Did not know this man passed away a year ago. Vyto was from southwest side of Chicago, the Marquette Square area, 69th Street, and a stalwart of that arts scene and Union Pier's in Michigan. He started a record label at twenty years old, Clay Pigeon. He released a various local artists disc and then this, his Tricentennial 2076. Over the years, his fun cover band, the Pop Tops played here and in Union Pier. He produced other artists, including 'Christopher', from Poland, who was a member of the 'Red Guitars', who in the '60s were the 'Beatles of Poland'. That LP was on Clay Pigeon too. I picked up a copy of that from Vyto's stash, excellent. We'd talk at Kroozin' Music, where I worked, and I'd run into him at local thrift stores, especially at the record bin, but of course. I had the hankering to ask him to produce an effort of mine and Michael Genovese, but that is a 'what might have been'. Anyway, another local rock legend and Lithuanian musical brother to admire and remember. Sleep well, Vyto B!

In 2076, this record is going to resurface from all the google seaches for the Tricentennial. If we're still alive, that is. I only hope I can be around to say: I was listening to that way before it was cool.
