Hi Julie Ann. I’ve missed you and enjoyed spending this time with you while I knit. I love your new striped sweater! I’m not much on dropped shoulder sweaters for myself but I might just have to make this for this coming winter. HUGS 🤗
I would think to lay down the stocking on a table and trace out the stocking on some inexpensive fabric and cut it out about half inch to three quarter inch shy of the actual stocking. Slip the fabric in the stocking and sew in the top edge. You could do this several times until you like the fit. I would use a thicker fabric for the finished lining. A duckcloth would really show off the stocking. It would have a rich looking texture and feel and with a few Christmas goodies inside you would have a stunning piece for the holiday. 🎄
Thanks so much for this video, it was very helpful. Perhaps the D&B and/or associate's time would be better spent producing/including a simple manual for the product instead of planting mean-spirited comments for an honest reviewer. It is a reasonable expectation to get a manual with this machine. It is lazy not to include one, period. Who wants to sort through lists of videos for answers? Not me. To the *** who told her to go back to hand knitting - wow! Looks like I will save for a little while longer to spend more for an Erlbacher (metal). For sewing and flatbed knitting machines, I have found metal components last longer. Hang in there Twin Stitches - you'll figure it out!
I do not own this book. I have seen several interview. Pro: beautifullly pictures, love the explaintation of the animals, love the simplicity of the patterns. Cons: I hate mohair, difficult to work with and very itchy
It's too bad about the hat sizing. I think this speaks to the importance of checking gauge. Once you measure that (per pattern instructions), it's simple to determine which size is right. I've made a dozen Musselburghs and they've all come out great (despite the fact that I incorporated ribbing, stripes and different yarn weights). It's a very customizable pattern and well worth the price. (IMO 😊)
I’ve made many Musselburgh hats…. Not because they’ve gone wrong but because I just love making them ! I made one for my husband and he loved it, my brother tried it on as I was making it…he loved it too… and my wheels started turning. I have 5 living brothers and 5 grand children… in January I began knitting for next Christmas. … still enjoy knitting them. Always planning the next…
I usually loose my knitting mojo as the weather warms up. I tend to go towards sewing/quilting and even crochet. I’m trying to get mine back too as I’ve been out of it since December. Having a specific project for a person helps and so does a deadline. Sometimes just touching your stash and looking at the colors letting the yarn inspire you is all that’s needed. Sometimes it’s just buying something new and using that right away. I am currently knitting up a romper using two different patterns and just attaching them at the waist with provisional cast on. I bought a very sweet fingering cotton yarn from Joannes in light pink and oranges that reminds me of sorbet and summer. So far, I’m not bored of that project, it is easy enough and not too many patterns to follow but enough to keep my mind occupied.
Hello Beautiful! This comment has nothing to do with your knit along, (although I will be knitting along) … I just wanted to tell you that you look fantastic. The colors you’re wearing in clothing, makeup, jewelry and hair is all working together. Stunning!!! You look really pretty 😊
I wouldn’t be using a sock yarn, approximately $30 cdn, and 20gm mini-skein approx. $8-10 cdn for a draw-string bag. That’s a pretty expensive bag. Definitely something I’d use an acrylic and much cheaper yarn for.
OMG! Why is it when women state that their work has value, and should be compensated for with MONEY, do others, men and women, throw some version of "You made your bed, now lie in it."? If you were a man, no one would question your asking for a fair wage for your labor! Deciding to be self-employed is not synonymous with "Exploit me, please." And I usually see this funky attitude coming from people who are positioned with serious wealth that they didn't make themselves. You're nicer than I am. S/he would have gotten the finger and then blocked.
Thank you for your honest review. For the money, D&B should do better and provide full instructions with the machine. For those commenters slating this video, if D&B mislead customers into thinking the machine is ready to go from the box, that is on them, not the customer.
I have one tote bag and one project bag for my one sock WIP and two scrappy blankets. I keep things simple and minimal. Once these two blankets are finished, I will keep my scrappy blanket number at one also. Monogamous crafting for the win!
I only have 2 WIPs. Like you I’m a monogamous knitter. However I have a tshirt, from last summer, that “misbehaved” and so was put in Time Out(& still remains there).
Hi. I currently have four WIPS. I had way more, but I recently started working one old project and pairing it with one new project. Let me tell you I've been flying through my wip shelf. I really loved this style of video. Enjoy your knitting. 😁
Hi Julie I have 14 WIPs at the moment, a combination of knit and crochet projects as I like to work on at least 4 different projects a day. 3 of the crochet projects are design ideas I am playing around with. Loving your video today. Have a great weekend ❤❤❤
I tried messaging you on IG but haven’t received a response. How do I join your membership waitlist? When I try, it gives me an error. It says page not found.
I have at least 10 wips if not more. There are two that will definitely be frogged but not sure about the rest. Most are on hold until kidding season is over. Just working on simple mindless projects.
How do you feel about knitting socks with YAOU Cotton Socks Yarn? Or if I were to use the yarn for a newborn blanket? I have absolutely no previous experience with cotton yarn except for dishcloths. Thank you!
