No disrespect to this wonderful lady, but the in rest of the world, terrorism was our first thought. Bin Laden had publicly declared war on the USA. The WTC was bombed in 1993 by his cronies. In 1998-9 two Us embassies and the SS Cole were bombed, killing over 250 people and injuring four and a half thousand, mostly local passers-by and neighbors. Somehow the US public was still kinda oblivious. They were always badly served by news organisations. And Rep politicians ran then, and run today, on a ticket of pretending that the US can opt out of international involvement, and always reduce foreign alliances, diplomacy, relationships - and reducing the Intelligence and policing capability to keep abreast of things.
Iconic personality. I wonder GB, and others like him of the era truly understand how profound their contributions were/are to music. In 1978, I was on the bus from high school discussing with a fellow classmate this "sound" I was looking for in music . That sound was guitar distortion. He said to me. : I think the band you are looking for is Black Sabbath" ... Boy was he right.
This is the father of moving basslines within a hard rock or heavy metal environment. There is something very organic between Geezer and Bill Ward. It's almost like they're both behind the beat for a nanosecond. Geezer fingers just above the neck. It's insane and it gives him a totally unique sound. This guy is more influential than many people think. His tone was perfect alongside Tony and a little like Entwistle, he held down the melody during the guitar solos. I could think of people like Cliff Burton and Steve Harris who had to be influenced by Butler. One of the top bassists ever.
I lost my dad over a decade ago, and I still talk to him occasionally. I choose to believe he can hear me and can give me inspiration and stay connected. And if he can't, and there's nothing after this life, and I'm just crazy, well so be it. Either way, it's fine, I'm fine.
You are a great interviewer but we expect that you know as much as us..lol Bugging ya. Computer God was a 1992 song 1992 song not 80s. Surprised Geez did not say anything but who cares i guess
This guy is everything a man should be. The way he remembers his fellow brothers and reminds everyone who and what they are and were. On top of the fact that he handled the division that came about after that awful day with fortitude and logic. He is a hero and the true essence of what it means to be a New Yorker from New York. The title hero almost doesn't even cut it. I hope he knows how much he's appreciated and the families of his fallen friends are fortunate to have him here. Reminding and sharing what we all must and will not ever forget. Thank you, Mr. Brown.
Lovely Geezer interview . Love Sabbath right back from the 1970s,,, Geezer was the lyrics as well as bass …Lovely historical stories and insights,,, lovely memories, and lovely CATS 🐈 sporadically striding past in the background….lol 😊. (Paul)
This band is pure hot garbage. It doesn't matter who they are trying to be. Their lyrics suck, the instrument playing is mediocre and the singer sounds like Kermit the frog being chocked out.
Great to hear that Geeza is a Vegan ( I wonder how long?) I never expected that, I’ve been Vegan for 39 years and like Geezer most of my friends who are still alive, have serious health issues such as Heart Disease, Diabetes etc. But Paul McCartney is not Vegan, for a start he sells food products that have Dairy in them. Also recently I found out that he likes shearing Sheep. 🌻🌎✊🏽
