Bandicut`s strongest soldier. Mainly upload what I want here. Right now its sort of a Pirate101 archive. I'm not really a fan of talking so a lot of gameplay videos on my channel are no commentary.
I use my Xbox game bar on my laptop to record the footage and make small trims in the captures folder, then I use Bandicut to compile all my game recordings together.
Not worth doing, but the interact glitch will make you talk to Ramirez every time you leave La Mancha, so I’d just do it. You’ll be sailing back to Bonobo’s then all the way across to the City Drains anyways, might as well make the trip more interesting.
Quest wise, it perfectly ties into The Chains that Bind. You'll go to Delphos, Nova Aquila, Achaea and Knossos in that order, so just do it alongside then. Reward wise, it's strange they don't even give you a trial, like a 1 day version, or a permanent but normal/average speed version. In Wizard, you can buy a few permanent ones, like the Blue Dragon - but sadly excluding various giveaways/events, your only chance of a free permanent mount (that's actually a speed boost) in Pirate is PVP rewards or farming endgame bosses like Kane or Bran the Raven Lord. The mount is only worth 500 gold, not sure the Vultures would be satisfied with that.
I did not know that Bran could drop a mount. Yeah it`s super disappointing going through all that effort and not being able to get the mount anyways. They really need to include some mounts that can be alternately bought for gold just like Wiz. I really don`t mind spending 100,000 for a house in Pirate and I didn`t have a problem spending 90,000 gold for the Bengal Tiger or the Proud Lion mount. Also if you had the patience you could get free mounts from fishing or from crafting to which Pirate has neither.
For the record, pets don’t do anything for this fight. While they could join in the old fight, I’ve not seen one instance of the pet joining the updated fight, so they might’ve added an exception in the code for this battle specifically. And while Stupendor-X appears to get epic grants (since it’s technically the pirate), they don’t do anything. I’ve seen the fight with a Vengeance grant, Repel grant and Relentless grant, none of them triggered. You could _maybe_ buff the ones it already has, like turning Riposte 1 into Riposte 2, but I wouldn’t count on it. Also, if you chat during the fight, your player icon is replaced by Stupendor-X as well. Don’t think anyone can see it because it’s a solo instance, but it’s still funny.
I was dying on the inside to this day when he revealed the piece of the map he was talking about was the very first one we got. All the trouble he made me go through just to get him his Pickled Herring.
Apparently they recently changed his title to be "Kurgha Guard" instead of "Kurgha Captain", though he still promotes to a "Kurgha Major". I think it might've been done to match the new Kurgha titles in Sinbad P3, but it's a strange change to make - it's not like Bagha Khan's titles ever matched the enemies.
That`s a weirdly specific thing to change lol, cause in the storyline he is the Captain in charge of the Isle of Fetch. It`s not that big of a deal but at the time it feels like a really unnecessary change to make in the first place.
It upgrades when you hit certain higher levels but I cannot remember the numbers specifically sorry. EDIT: For version 4 I think I was around level 35 and for the final version I would have to guess somewhere around level 50?
Right, something really weird about this place. There are these stationary Tengu along the path, and if you pick a fight with them, no other enemies join - it'll just be one little Tengu vs your whole team. This Tengu still counts for both the collect quests, so you can just beat them up in 1-2 turns until you get everything if you wanna cheese it. There are other stationary enemies like Geese or Helephants, but those trigger a normal battle, only the Tengu are broken for whatever reason.
Well, it's only natural there's less since Wizard has way, _way_ more worlds than pirate. That said, some of Zeke's quests feel lacking - part of that being worlds like Valencia or Marleybone not having that many locations to place objects. I like the Funky Bunch, Seagulls, Shonen Knives, Rolling Stones and Eagles, though the Knives were a little annoying due to being flat on the ground; Gypsy Kings and Dixie Chicks I think should've had more hidden around. Something like: Gypsy Kings: Summer Palace, Monquista City Drains, Cavern of the Crescent Moon Dixie Chicks: Infested Tunnel, Watering Hole, Arroyo Grande (both West and East) - Interesting note, this world doesn't have any in the basic zones like Cooper's Roost or Santo Pollo, unlike every other Zeke quest. Also, even though neither are new worlds, there could've been ones for Port Regal and Calabria Skyway. Wouldn't be very long ones, but I could see at least a few locations in each skyway to warrant one.
A pretty fun quest, but quite long for not much reward. This is the first instance of a side quest not being for extra rewards or tutorial, but for extra story…and I guess Fin Dorsal if you really want him. What’s kind of strange is that you need to complete “Quid Pro Quo” in order to start it, obtaining your Presidio companion - except they don’t talk in the story when there’s clearly space for them to, which makes me think it was supposed to be done _before_ getting them. Might’ve been to do with the various shifting of paywalls back in the day; then again, Bonnie doesn’t talk either, so maybe I’m reading too much into this.
The Dog Pirates have to be the most varied enemy type in the game. They always get Blade Storm, but I’ve seen their other epic be Vengeance Strike, Cheap Shot, Hold the Line, and apparently Second Chance too - if you count bosses, Relentless, First Strike and Riposte all also appear. That’s not even factoring in all the ones with a title other than ‘Dog Pirate’, like the Shepherds or Privateers.
Here's something fun to try out while setting up Pt2 for this. Rooke's Rookochet epic is considered a ranged attack, so if he reflects onto a unit with Quick Draw or True Grit, that unit will shoot Rooke (Return Fire can't trigger because Rookochet is a guaranteed hit). I've done some tests with this because it becomes _really_ buggy in those situations. Here's what I've noticed: 1. For some reason, True Grit deals damage to Rooke and won't be reflected, completing bypassing Rookochet. 2. Similarly, if the Musketeer unit is hidden, its attack will bypass Rookochet, dealing damage and not getting reflected. 3. True Grit's stun will prevent Rookochet's reflect from going off, but Rooke will still be immune to subsequent ranged attacks. 4. If Rooke is low health and the attack would've killed if not for Rookochet, his death animation will trigger, but he won't actually die and will be invisible for the remainder of the battle. 5. Double Tap doesn't trigger if the attack was nullified by Rookochet, such as using an Epic Strike on Rooke. 6. Sometimes the reflect just doesn't trigger? It doesn't have a limit for how many times it can trigger, so I have no clue why. Steely Resolve works in similar ways; it's a ranged attack and gets blocked by stun - unlike Rookochet it can miss so Return Fire is able to trigger off it. Swift Retribution might be a ranged attack but I'm not sure, you'd want to test with a Musketeer pirate casting Ghostwail or something.
It's pretty cool that the standard sticks around after finishing the quest. You don't usually get changes in the world like that, at least not from what I remember. This one's definitely one of the more noticeable ones on that front, and for a sidequest no less!
Here it is; I respect the effort to show all the quest goals, even though that required multiple cuts. I found it interesting that you fight the Batu and Guyuk Barbarians outside the hall - normally these quests would have you go into the hall for a promotion specific battle. On that note, despite all the battles of this questline, only Hunan actually forces the use of Subodai, even though all these things are tasks specifically for him. I personally replicated the effect by swapping to Firstmate only during promotion quests, just so said companion always featured.
Yeah that`s something I did notice, missed opportunity but whatever. He definitely should have been in the outside khan hall fights but I guess since it wasn`t a specific instance inside a building then he isn`t programed to be in those battles. That`s probably why he doesn`t show up automatically since most of the battles involve fighting mobs in an outside area that any player can fight.
The wait is finally over, this was the last companion promotion video that I still needed to do. Thank you guys for being patient. This was a pain in the ass lol. Had to do this quest 3 times on this one character (2nd time this happened on a girl character, must be cursed lol) so if things look inconsistent then that`s the reason why. The main reason is because of my recording not having audio despite the footage instead coming out fine. Let me tell you guys there`s nothing more frustrating than fighting the last boss of the quest (6 minutes of footage with dialogue from when you enter and when you defeat the boss) and your laptop shuts down so when log in the game completes the fight for you and you can`t repeat the fight (or it has no audio). Another reason why I had to do that in the first place is because of how glitchy this quest is, certain goals would activate regardless of whether I was there or not. The dialogue you get from Subdoai from when you reach Khan Batu`s tower can activate if you go near Khan Guyuk`s tower for some reason. Recently when I was rerecording the footage for the third time I found another one. As soon as you exit Batu`s tower the game thinks you already arrived at the Guyuk tower and gives you the defeat 8 goal.
