Yes and no (if I remember correctly) Titus was in the deathwatch because he wrongly thought the ultramarines had abandoned him because he was struck from their records. But they did this in grief and dissatisfaction with themselves not with titus. When the ultramarines realised Titus was still alive and not dead he returned to the chapter.
I'm a Warhammer losely affiliate(?) for a few years now. I don't particularly like the existing 40k factions, at least not enough to be willing to buy/collect stuff. I have however always loved the Skaven, but also strongly disliked W:Fantasy. I would totally buy 40k Skaven models, hell I'm even thrinking of buying the Fantasy ones, well knowing that I'll never play them and to maybe kitbash them myself. Thats how much I want rats in space.
I doubt we'll see GW build on that lore tbh with you. I'd love for them to do it but I think they were testing the waters with it and frankly I don't think enough of the fandom actually cared about it.
@@starsagelore they have been building on it in shodowsuns most recent book tau’va is in it a lot it’s able to stop nurgles plagues and it even destroyed their flag ship with all the marines inside while they were inside the Star tide nexus. I’m not the biggest fan of it myself but if I were a writer I would make it play a passive role in helping the tau from the sidelines and stepping in to help only when the tau really need it
I think there’s a potential of the emperor becoming a chaos god maybe not now but at some point if he stays on the golden throne and doesn’t awake to re claim his seat running the imperium and stopping widespread worship of him that is, if the Eldar bringing slanesh to be are anything to go off the humans worshipping him as a god for the last 10k years could possibly will it to be.
@@keithedergaming1047 yeah very fair point and I think it qould be the safe option for games workshop I'm just not sure how they could do it in a satisfying way
@@starsagelore I’m not sure there could be a satisfying way to go about it if that’s the case, granted the imperiums been on a decline/ kinda coasting since the heresy but turning it into what they’ve been fighting against would be a rough 180
One of the places where I think Skaven (or 40 k equivalent) could work best is Necromunda (or Hive city Secundus). I would probably not want them as a major playable faction in 40k proper, but as a kill team or for necromunda, I think it could be fun. Small bands of ratlings would work in the smaller settings.
after rouboute came back ressurected by the emperor, when mortarion notices roboute reviving he mentioned and insanely strong energy coming this way (assumed to be the emperor) and also notes another, watching from behind the shades. Who could this being be? It somehwat answers for me that the emperor himself is not the 5th chaos god but something else.. obviously its 40k and lore isnt really solid until its got multiple sources. Words directly from primarchs, chaos primarchs, and in this case also even the emperor himself as he was essentially speaking for roboute about how the warp is not the only side that can push back in this battle of wills or some shit like that
Tricky one as the primarchs have always had a unique powerful presence in the warp. Even the ones without psychic gifts have a strong presence. (Which is how the Emperor finds them to begin with). I do think it's going to come down to what entity all the prayers of mankind are fuelling. Is it directly the emperor or a separate entity.
@@starsagelore yes exactly, nothing is ever for sure with 40k Lore, as everything is left up for speculation and all is counted as canon. It technically could be magus the red skin primarxh as he might be strong enough for mortarion to label him a power as equal to the emperor. I didn’t mention this my original comment but I’ll look for the quote and post it here if I find it. Mortarion also states that the presence creeping from behind the shades was a presence equal in strength to the first or comparable. Atleast that’s how he implies it to be.
Number 255, reporting in. Love me a channel that does lore dives. As a returning player after over a decade's hiatus, I am so here for this. Side note, but I really like the video presentation and style!
@starsagelore can u do what if theories? I got a few ideas What if belisarius cawl is malcadors reincarnation ? What if horus became a chaos god after dying? What if the eldar colonized earth during humanity's stone age to guide and protect and teach them? What if perturabo became vashtorrs champion instead of being of chaos undivided?
I bought 3x skaventide boxes to run a Skaven army using tyranid rules, 120x clan rats as 120x hormagaunts, the big rattling guns as exocrine, and the snipers as Zoenthropes ECT.. and need to check scale but might put winged tyranids prime wings on the mounted rat leader as run it as a tyranid prime, greyseer as neurotyrant .. something along those lines
@@WildAce001 I'd be interested to see how that runs/plays Are you going to do any conversions to make them a little more high tech or just keeping it generic skaven?
@@starsagelore I have not decided on that yet, other than the prime wings I don't know what I want to do I'm waiting to see them in person before I make too many decisions. I have a massive Deathwatch army I am building 10,000 points worth 😂 and I need to focus on that for bit to get a few thousand points into a playable state I'm happy with.. then I can devote some time to figuring out my skaven
A version of the Skaven almost certainly exist somewhere in the 40k universe, but they just wouldn't remotely be a major xenos power to be notable amongst so many others.
Completely forgot to post a link to the article if anyone wants to read it: www.polygon.com/24190812/skaven-age-of-sigmar-army-warhammer-40k-addition#:~:text=The%20Skaven%20are%20bipedal%20critters,denied%20the%20existence%20of%20Skaven.
That would be kinda awesome. You could introduce them in the most terrifying way possible. True dark sci-fi stuff. Like have a human outpost world on the furthest fringes of the empire. Somewhere far away from the green horde and the tyranid wars. Some little dark, forgotten corner of known human space when all of a sudden the psychics start sensing something out in the dark. Then after a few tense weeks go by with unease growing. Boom!! Skaven mass invasion into human space. It could work
Somehow, I don't see this "cool" at all. Why? And how would they stand a chance leaving from one planet. It would be very weird if they were infesting only one hive city and grew into galaxy spanning force seems just stupid.
@@mrbongalong2788 they meant their insanely vast numbers and the fact that they use swarm tactics. Clan rats are basically the hormogaunts of the skaven.
Yes-yes. I do so live my factions that use swarm tactics of horrifically vast numbers and either insanely mutated creatures or ridiculous technology to get the job done.
Currently hearing rumours that their codex is getting removed and that they're being combined into an agents of the imperium codex, being announced soon
Hmm 🤔 , nah GW is really busy doing. Di-service to there own community (wink2x) and reaping its result. So skaven in 40k could be the the nail in the coffin. People did not have a positive attitude towards "femtodes". But maybe, just maybe "woke'skven".😲
Great vid however some questionable facts. Deathwatch is not actually a chapter as each chapter has an assigned number. They have commanders, of which one, will act in role similar to chapter master, however not an actual one. You initially mentioned not knowing timeline of inception then sort if cover it by mentioning War of the Beast! There's lore existing this, so I recommend doing more detailed research b4 creating your vids. Wish you much success!
Thanks for the reply man. I think it is safe to call them a chapter as in both sides of the lore it says the high lords of terra or the inquisition both agreed on the creation of a new Chapter. However, if you don't want to agree with it being called a chapter that's cool, what would you rather call them. In regards to the timeline of inception, we don't have confirmed dates and it does get a bit mirky of the actual dates and when you can consider them death watch. That's more what I meant in that part sorry if it wasn't clear. It's also a bit mirky what is the true origin of the deathwatch whether it was Koorland or the inquisition so I wanted to make sure I covered both sides. Thanks for watching and the feedback🙏
Funnily enough I actually struggled for decent quality art for this dark angels episode which is why I had to go a bit rogue for this video sorry. Feedback noted and will work on it, thank you 🙏
Here is some awsme insight ...d abnett coined the term( vox ..vox caster.( For any coms .. and it carries threw All of 40k .but mr dan and co and few others are the legend creators of 99%of all lore as they wrote the fables the lore master iterators .legends one and all.. mckoll larks mcven my top ghosts 🤟 there needs to be a lost years novel of mcven and his time with the guerion untills his nalsheen.. and is he realy dead or just a true ghost legend 🤟
