Pike and Shotte is pretty basic, but gets the job done. They don’t do a good job of simulating how the pike and musket formations worked tactically, but you can house rule to fix that. Baroque by Dadi is Piombo is another set of rules to check out. Alternative Armies also has a set of English Civil War oriented rules for the 17th century as well. For miniatures, The Assault Group makes a lot of nice 28mm renaissance figures that includes 30 Years War
I used to cast 28mm ACW and vietnam for first corp b4 my uncle sold it. best job i ever had. 10p per figure 16 in a mould for a 2 minutes perfect spin i got 1.60p could go surf when i wanted smoked weed. i alway cast more than what was needed as i didnt want it to end. im sure breathing in all that talc didnt help my lungs
I wish I had a historical gaming club where I am at, your project sounds like its off to a cool start. Always nice to have someone who is willing to build the other side. Pike and shot is fun for 30yw I think. Did you all consider the Epic Pike and Shot figures, or wanted to go 28mm?
I mean if he was doing a smaller scale I'd assume he'd want to use more accurate miniatures than Epic Pike and Shotte 😂😂😂 I'd choose 15mm/18mm anyway over 28mm simply because there's actual miniatures for the Thirty Years' War
