@@ControlAllDa1337 hey mate, me 42. Few tips for an ollie, try it rolling, and try just to pop the board, just a small pop, thats how i learned it while rolling. Dont give up, cruise around, feel comfortable on the board 🛹 Good luck and if any questions, drop them ;) happy to help, and skate safe, everything heals a way longer.
@@skate-vision Thanks for the tips bro much appreciated. Only managed to get a few minutes on the board today between work, personal project and family commitments but I'm enjoy what time I get to spend practicing. Subbed to your channel :)
I'd try learning shuvits and fakie 180 pivots while moving before the ollie, they're definitely easier and can help you get more comfortable on the board.
I’m like right behind you by a week on progress. Your ollies are just like mine: really great ones, some good ones, and some crappy ones lol. You pretty much got it down, it’s just trying to stay consistent on hitting that sweet spot 🙌
Well done mate, keep it up and skate skate skate, we'll get there one day. Yeah consistency is the key and what i am trying to do too, it take thousands of attempts, but dont give up mate and very best of luck, just keep going!!! ❤
Wow you have great commitment! Very brave at the first spot with all the people around. Im not sure if its possible to noseslide that step. You should check by pushing the boards nose on it with your hands back and forth. If it doesnt slide doing this then it wont slide so probably not worth trying although at the speed you were going you probably could get a baby slide! Keep up your hard work!
Thanks man, i did noseslide few times in the past on that spot and even landed, but yeah speed is still getting used to, one day;) It was 16-17 so ppl were finishing their work cutting off, dont care wanna skate.
@@TheHypotheticalSkater Thank you mate, appreciate kind words ;)100%, no time to waste, want to learn and its so rare to have good weather to skate (rains all time)
I have a couple tips for ollies: 1. When you ollie you wanna have the ball of your back foot in the center of the tail it’ll help you generate more pop 2. When it comes to ollies onto curbs it helps me a lot when I think of it as jumping sideways over a fence. Lift the leg closest to the fence over first then follow with the other.(kinda hard to explain in words but I tried) 3. Lifting your knees to your chest and keep your body stable and low helps you ollie higher and over obstacles easier I hope my tips can help you in your next sesh keep skating homie 💪
I did, in one of my spots i did and landed a few, at leadenhall they have these metal buttons that just munch your board, I used wax on there and on my board, i'll just need to keep practicing;) thanks for the help and comment tho
Great progress man!! Your really putting the effort in that it requires. I know you have seen my tutorial on Noseslides so hope it helps! You need to really turn at the last second and slap than nose, so be parallel to the curb then 180 slap on the nose. You got it. Remember curb prep is everything… rub brick it, clear laquer it with a couple of coats then and only then wax 💪
Ollies are great! Keep going. It's really hard to ollie at the speed you are going, I would dial it down a bit, you really get the feel and timing when it's a bit slower. Great work though 💪
@@DadLeisureSkateboarding so true i was slowing down today and had them higher, dono why i try to do at the speed, just want to get used to speed, but yeah its hard, still is nice n high enough. Thanks for the comment and support!!!
@@Ungracefulmovement thanks man, i try try these noseslides but only landed a few, don't give and push, push, push, we'll do them one day, thank for ollies, feel like i get them static pretty good but still got rockets when rolling, will keep working on them!!! One day I'll jump over the pavement:) Keep going man and don't give up!!!
@ 9:17 - Even though you didn't land it, this was one of your strongest ollies; You managed to get your front foot high enough on the noes to quickly level out the board. Pop that back foot and slide your front foot *INTO the nose* and watch how quickly you progress at ollies. You have long legs too, you'll be getting high ollies in no time.
Thanks man, really appreciate the comment and support. Yeah i feel like noseslides arent progressing (i know they do, but i just dont feel that i am moving, every session i got maybe one or two when i actually land it, if i am lucky) skate skate skate ;) Big up
Thanks man, yeah i need a better pop, jumping higher and leveling are my next steps to improve. Thanks for the tips and sub man, really appreciate it!!!
I started skating 3 weeks ago!! Im still getting comfortable on it. Don't know how to ollie yet but ill get there. Keep skating dude, you're doing awesome!!
Thank you, yeah get comfortable on the board, take it easy, wear protective gear if you need, i used to fall quite a lot in my first month (might not be in your case), try some tic tac, learn how to stop is crucial, we all been there, keep going and dont give up, you will make it, if you got any questions, let me know ;)
I used to skate a lot in my late teens and stopped due to work. I'm in my late early 30's now. Watching you progress makes me want to skate more and learn new tricks.
Hey man, go for it, as long as you enjoy it and take it easy, its a bit more painful and longer recovery. Its never too late to go back, see how it goes!!! Your muscle memory will help you to remember.
Here from the group. Same. 45. Just started with ollies a few months ago too. Keep up the hard work! What helped for me was bend down, then pop while jumping up, just flicking the ankle. Slightly rolling back on the pop, then rolling the front foot forward. Pop back, roll forward like a wave motion. Not just sliding your foot up, rolling the ankle is the key. Then sucking up those knees, especially the back one to get some height. I am still working on that too. Doing stationary ollies onto a curb can help with that wave motion. Then rolling and popping onto a curb 50-50 with a stall in the begging was my next step. But everyone’s ollie journey is different. Some trick tips just click and others just don’t work. Keep skating dude! 👊🏻Subbed.
Thanks man, also subbed ;) Will give that a try, really appreciate the support and tips, havent though that so many people will respond with the tips, its so great 😃 Yeah that wave motion, moving front foot and raising back foot quick, is what i am struggling with, but its all skate skate skate. Keep up too and thank you!
I think pump tracks are a brilliant place to learn to skate. Great for fee of the board and technique carving and pumping. I’ve started again after 20 years off and am dropping in on bowls already after going to pump tracks regularly.
Hey man, thanks for the comment, the black and white were DC, cant remember the exact model and cant check as have killed them, toes were coming from the bottom lol 😭
Thats good man, keep up, i was cruising on regular board with OJ60mm 78a, but last year was moved more into at least getting an ollie :) Want at least jump up the curb :) Keep going and dont stop!!!
Heyy, thanks for posting this video! Nowadays, there are lots of people posting 1 year skate progression videos and they learn hard tricks like kickflips, heelflips and treflips within a few months. Those videos make me feel like I'm not made for skateboarding, because I haven't landed the kickflip yet, even though I have been skating for almost 11 months now. Don't be so hard to yourself and just have fun, guys! I really enjoy seeing people like you working on tricks like Ollies for months. That shows how patient you are. You got this, man. Those nose slides are sick!
Thank you a 100% agree, not there for kickflips yet, but who knows one day i hope be able to make one :) Your comment is exactly how i feel, its all about enjoying and still cant jump a curb lol Keep up the good work man and hope you get that kickflip soon, i think a lot of people want to show off and I just record how i am skating and watching it to see where i have made mistakes and how to improve. Really appreciate that i am not alone there battling with fear, pain and joy 😊 Skate safe buddy!!!
