This RU-vid Channel is the official channel of the Town of Bridgewater, located in Nova Scotia Canada.
Bridgewater, a community of over 8,700 residents, is located along the picturesque South Shore, about one hour's drive from downtown Halifax.
First settled around 1812 and incorporated as a town in 1899, Bridgewater has become the hub of commercial activity and a centre of development on the South Shore.
Bridgewater is such a beautiful town but like other Nova Scotia towns it deals with underlying poverty. Old housing stock is a challenge throughout Nova Scotia. At our home in Cape Breton we turned off the heat in April leading to a very cold house.
This all a lie of buzzwords..How is wasting 5 million installing Chinese style slave surveillance going to help people. Laughable.. if it wasnt so horrifying.
So sorry for your plight. Here in Alberta, they put in many new electric power poles, smart gauges for power improving power usage. The cost of power has just gone up. The power companies should have been able to phase in new utilities gradually instead of doing it all at once. Most of the electric bill is for delivery of the service, not according to the amount of power that you use. No matter how little you use, your bill will still remain high due to delivery charges.
This is crazy! I worked in a nuclear power plant on lake Ontario in ny, usa. They kept the plant shutdown for almost three years under the guise of repairs. Truth is, the company was buying Canadian hydro because it was cheaper than running the plant, this was during the 90's - what happened to the cheap hydro electricity production??

Bridgewater is the best place in the whole of Nova Scotia. Much better than Halifax, Bedford and Dartmouth. Much better than Sydney, North Sydney, Sydney Mines, Glace Bay or New Waterford. Much better than Truro on New Glasgow. Much better than Kentville, Wolfville or Windsor. Much better than Amherst or Sackville (though Sackville is New Brunswick, but still much better. Even much better than the neighboring towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay.
Good afternoon folks. One of the first items of discussion during this meeting was Mayor Mitchell acknowledging the volunteer efforts of people in the community but mentioning that an official gathering has been postponed due to obvious current circumstances. On that note, since moving back into town a year ago, and being quite active on the trails and various neighborhoods as a marathoner and dog-walker, I’ve noticed that unfortunately there are some in the community who continue to litter. I typically pick up and discard any small pieces I see if I know there’s a receptacle nearby, but the reality is that doesn’t make a dent. I would like to discuss the possibility of organizing a regular (maybe once per weekend) volunteer cleanup team, who while getting some exercise for an hour or so can also help pick up litter around town. Clearly we would not be doing anything like this in the near future what with the Covid-19 scenario, but I’d like to get ahead on discussions if possible about any help the town may be able to offer such as bags, gloves, a place to put the garbage, etc. if a team were to be formed to take on such an endeavour. If interested, please advise of an email address or phone number where the appropriate party could be reached. Thanks so much. And as a side note, I think this town has demonstrated a remarkably positive response to these current circumstances. I know I’m not alone in appreciating the daily updates and transparency.
This is sad to see. This is a first world country. The first world is clearly going downhill. These people need help. So many fat people. Eat healthy and no fast food or processed food. Wearing thick clothes at home also help to keep the heating down.
