I loved the Atlas Paradox, but I just felt ok about the first and third books in the trilogy. I felt like 1 and 3 were all vibes and no plot, where as book two had a lot of plot stuff happening. I cannot deal with books that have no plot, so that might just be a me thing.
15:45 could that refer to Vasher? but not in the context of the champion but in a regular way. Because everyone is compared to Vasher and heralds is a child. I am saying Vasher because it's says "breath".
I have TWO big problems with your Taln theory. First, and most important, Taln never broke. Which means he never gave in to let a desolation come. It would be a huge ideological shift for him to make it 4500 years and then just throw it all away like that. But two, El is specifically a fused who has “had his rhythms stripped” and we know that all of the heralds are humans from Ashyn (except Ash who was born on Roshar). So how did he become a singer, then a fused, then get his rhythms stripped, all while not breaking during a mostly cognitive realm battle on Braize? I like most of it, but it just doesn’t really fit the lore that we know. Also, word of Brandon has said that the crazy man is in fact Taln. That can always change, but I’m pretty sure he’s sure on that one
Awesome vid. There are plenty of theories I haven't heard of. I believe Odium's champion will be Adolin due to him not being a Radiant like his father and brother, and Taravangian could deceive him in saving Roshar and surpassing Radiant-hood. Adolin has shown that he doesn't always align with his father's methods and beliefs. Taravangian could use that difference in convincing Adolin to fight for him for the "greater good". Hopefully, little Gavinor can just be a child a while longer and not get tied up in world breaking conflicts.
Just binge-watched A Discovery of Witches on Netflix since it just got ported over from it's original platform and am absolutely obsessed. Immediately got the trilogy on kindle and can't wait to read it. Cool to find out it has more than the 3 original books, too. More to get into!

What a fantastic charity to donate to. I will continue to not skip the ads on Worldhoppers videos so you can continue to gain the revenue from them 🖤🖤🖤
As a young man I had the opportunity to see Médecins Sans Frontières at work in Nepal with Tibetan refugees. Some of the most resourceful & hardest working folks I've ever seen. I've been donating to them regularly ever since. People there (and all over the globe) are alive thanks to them … even more _have lives_ (with a bit of security and genuine opportunity) thanks to their efforts. Others, like myself, benefit immensely from seeing them as an example. Even through the lean years of contract work in my 20's, they stayed in my budget right up until it was them or Rx/food. Y'all have good tastes in charities.
This was great! 😁Would love to have more indie rec videos like this, especially if we could get more of light recommendations and whimsical and chaotic ones (I think things like Howl's Moving Castle, One Piece, Stephanie Garber & T. Kingfisher books etc) since most of the books recommended here are dark or grim dark 😅 so it would be very nice to get some lighter recs as well, if possible 💖
Hi! So is this your husband's library? I watched some videos you two made together a few years ago, but does he have his own channel? Btw, were you in the same house while doing this live? ^.^
Kris is out here tailoring books to all the Lost Girl fans. I nearly fell out of my seat when he mentioned that show. I need The Ruptured Sky immediately.
This list was AMAZING! Thanks for all the recommendations. I would love a chat around accessing the actual books. Are there secret sources for borrowing indie books?
Based on what I remember hearing is that you DO need to watch the whole ad (or at least 45 seconds if it's longer than that) but my info might be outdated
This brought me sooo much joy! I loved seeing all of my favourite hidden gems get some well deserved time in the spotlight. Kris and Taylor are basically my book twins, so I couldn't agree more with all the gushy recommendations here. Especially Legacy of the Brightwash, Dream of Death City and The Wickwire Watch are incredible imo. And love that Kris mentioned Peace & Turmoil, because that was one of my first indie books and still one of my faves!
Great video! 2 fabulous guests including my PAGE CHEWING partner! Honoured by the rec of my series, and even I who pride myself in being pretty tuned into the Indie SFF scene, some great new recs from Kris & Taylor that I was not aware of! Thanks for the awesome content!
I generally love more gushes than rants because I love seeing people being passionate about their hobbies. I do like rants if they're comedy leaning like you guys mentioned. If a channel is all about only serious-over the top ranting then I don't subscribe because too much negativity drains me emotionally. The channels that I tend to love are a healthy balance of gushing and ranting backed up by critical opinions/criticisms. They're not just about "omg I had this transcendental experience" or "omg that book is trash" 😂. Great conversation ladies!
tbh I only really click on a video if it's a book I already read or a creator I already like haha. Doesn't matter if it's a rant or a gush :) My one exception is that I love watching 'worst books of 20XX', it's so cathartic
I do absolutely feel FOMO from watching booktube and I do think it sped up the pace I read and jump into my next book. I've definitely been influenced to overbuy books I won't even be able to get to for months just so I have them at the ready after hearing someone talk about them and feeling excited for the story. This year I've committed to waiting for library holds, slowing down buying and trying to listen to some as audiobooks and only buy a hard copy if I really love it and realistically will reread it in the future. I've learned what kind of book I'll actually reread.
