The Big Indian Picture is an online magazine on cinema. We feature opinion, reportage, narratives, photo-essays, art, interviews and videos. The idea is to broaden the conversation on cinema. Also, to use cinema as a prism to look at design, politics and culture at large. And have some fun while at it.
Amir Hamid Jafri, thank you very much for the wonderful reading of a chapter from history. I enjoyed every second of this phenomenal recording. Who is this Mahmood Farouqui ? I would love to know more about him. Can you please elaborate? Zia Mohyuddin is nowhere comparable.
He seems like a very sweet, unassuming chap in this interview! Clearly the violence and hurt and chaos in his work (which comes from somewhere within him obvs) have been well exorcised from his life and mind. But yeah fascinating contrast.
Halfway through watching this, and couldn't hold myself back from writing this. This guy spoke fabulous stuff, I connected with everything that he said not just 'cuz I second him o everything with it being a similar thought process(some thoughts being exactly the same), but then it's so genuinely reflected at and wonderful as a thought process itself!
A complicated person as most artists are. He seems to oscillate between having a method for a film and not having any method at all.Knows what his strengths are. His honesty and down to earthness being examples.
LOVE the lady so graceful so much full of poise so pretty so intellectual and lots of love to karan so honest so bold so true and both sync so well together proud to have viewed this .
Cudnt believe Ranbir was a duffer student. As he looks so intelligent offscreen. Whether it's an interview or interaction. He looks so smart I like the concept of the interview. They r drinking, eating, sitting casually. Just so natural. No formalities
Really love this roundtable. But Mayank kept irritating me. Please sir, stop touching your nose, eyes, lips through the/a whole video. It is really distracting and not hygienic. I had revulsion. Dont ge me wrong, it not my intension to be mean or abusive.
