Hi Thank you for this series, very quick and more serious example than a simple todo list. or trivial task most people post out there. Reading most of the comments, I haven't seen anyone ask about the order detail (list of ordered items) One person was asking for something that might have been similar to that when they wanted to add multiple items at once. I think you mentioned using Patch() for that. Do you have any examples or recommendations on how you might complete this sample asp to show/ upload the content of the Shopping cart?

Fantastic and clear video. Thank you. Could I ask how to work your magic on Datacards overlay? So a form, with some datacards, and a way to overlay a datacard with another datacard. For example: Last Modified by.... is one datacard and the other is "Created by..." datacard. Depending on whether I am creating a new record or editing a record, I want the right datacard to appear over (or under) the other. is this possible please?
Hi, and thanks! Well you could make the visibility of the Datacards dynamic, by using a formula instead of true/false in the Visible property. If you then make sure that they are in the correct order in your form, I bet you can make it look as if the one is on top of the other, while in reality it's just about which one is visible and which one isn't. There are more advanced ways to do this as well probably, Google is your friend here :-) Hope this helps! - Jochen
Hi, I have two questions. How do I edit a field using Power Apps and is there a way to use two sharepoint lists in an edit form? Like Name and address comes from a list and items comes from its own list. Thanks for good explainations.
Hi! If by "edit a field" you mean edit a record on for example SharePoint, you can use the same Edit Form for that. Just make sure to set Default Mode to "Edit" and to specify which record you want to edit in the Item-property. By default an edit form is designed to use 1 data source, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to make it use multiple data sources. This is somewhat more advanced though, so I recommend just doing a Google search on "powerapps form multiple data sources". You will find tutorials on how to do that. Hope that helps! - Jochen

Hi! I don't really understand the scenario you are trying to accomplish... but if it's about saving multiple records to for example a SharePoint list, you will need the Patch() function to do something like that. An edit form like we used in the video, is more suited for just 1 record at a time, since it will show the fields of the data source record by default. Hope that helps! - Jochen
Can i connect this as an app to my phone? I wanted to do something like this for my expenses, as a quick way of registering them. Can it open literally as an app on my phone and put new data in and it updates the new data to an excel file?
Hi! Yes, very easily, you just have to install the "PowerApps"-app on your phone first. When you log into that app with your Microsoft credentials, you should see all the published apps that you made and the apps that were shared with your user. Hope this helps! - Jochen

@@CegekaBusinessSolutions so, I built my form and it looks great, however; I now get a webauthoring abnormal termination error and it will not allow my app to run anymore. Do you know how to fix that? I've rebuilt the app/form several times and the error keeps happening. Very frustrating. Any help?
Hi! At the beginning of this week there were some big issues with Power Apps in general (globally), so that might have caused the issues for you as well. However, if you are still having the same issues today, I honestly have no idea what could cause that... I would need some more details and even then it will probably be hard to pinpoint such an error from here, sorry. - Jochen
Hi! Well for the way I did it in the video, yes you would have to click 50 times. :-) The alternative is that you for example add a text input field in the gallery to enter a quantity, and then of course make sure that that quantity-value is saved/updated property in a Qty-field in the shopping bag collection. Multiple ways of doing this of course, it all depends on your requirements for the app. Hope that helps! - Jochen

I like your videos. I follow the video to the letter, but when I add the images from CategotyImage no images appear. Text from Title is displayed. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks! Maybe you have added a Label control instead of an Image control, since you see a Text property? If so, delete that Label control, add an Image control instead and in the Image property put ThisItem.CategoryImage. Hope that helps! - Jochen

Hi Yaroslav! Eventually we decided to not save the items at all for this series, so only the "header" information is saved in the OrderHeader-list on SharePoint. Hope that helps! - Jochen

Hi! The formula seems to be correct, but instead of "Transparent" try "Color.Transparent", hope that fixes the issue. So "If(ThisItem.IsSelected, RGBA(168,0,0,0.25), Color.Transparent)" would be the formula to use. They have changed it a while ago, so that you HAVE to use Color. first now. Instead of just using "Red" in a formula, you now have to use "Color.Red". Same goes for all other enumerations, like for example the Displaymode property: instead of just using "Disabled" when using it in a formula, you have to use "DisplayMode.Disabled". Thanks for this informative video. I just have a query here, Can we Read/Update the cross-company data that exists in D365 F&O from power apps using virtual entities? if there are multiple legal entities where the user has access in F&O and he performs operations and the requirement is to perform CRUD operation for each company using virtual entities from power apps e.g. canvas app in addition to the default company assigned to that user in F&O. I noticed that the OOB finance and operation connector for power apps only works for the default company assigned to the user in F&O and does not work for the other companies where the user has also access. Looking into if the virtual entity works in the same manner for the default company assigned to a user or if it supports all companies
Hi! Virtual Entities are cross company supported by default. Which means that if a user has access in multiple companies, they will also receive the data from those companies. You can then filter by using a default field like Company(mserp_dataareaid). If you want to do a Create(s) in a specific company, you will have to fill in that field to specify the company you want to use. Hope this helps!

Hello,I'm struggling to replicate what you did on the existing order screen,the part where you snapped your fingers and said "magic" with no explanation on the workings,personally I've added the columns (ID,Date,Items etc),My issue is now the vertical gallery,how exactly did you fill in those properties within the V. gallery ?
Hi! I copied the vertical gallery from the template screen and just resized it a little bit to fit the screen. The value for the Items-property of the vertical gallery is shown in the video when I explain about the toggle I used, since that toggle's value is used as a filter in that Items-formula. Inside the gallery's element are all just text label controls with the Text-property set to ThisItem.ID, ThisItem.OrderDate, ThisItem.Status.Value, ... and so on (depending on which fields you want to see there). That's all there is to explain really, hope that helps! - Jochen
