I love sharing my passion for music, whether it's through playing instruments, or discussing my favorite synths, genres and artists with friends. Music has a way of connecting people and evoking emotions that words sometimes can't express.
In addition to my love for music, I am also an astrophotographer. Capturing the beauty of the night sky and the vastness of the universe is an awe-inspiring and very humbling experience under the stars.
I usually just play with different sounds, depending on mood and time, that can take days or hours. Once they all work together, ideally it's time to hit record before the idea fades into the abyss and start something new again. I always record in one go, whether it's using sequencers, arps or playing, I don't like to multitrack. For me anyhow, multitracking rarely sounds natural or organic, I would prefer a simpler, more basic track and less time as possible in a DAW other than a quick EQ and master.
@@the_astro_garden You're not wrong about ideas fading away. Ancients believed that one "was' not a genius, but "had" a genius. And genius sometimes would bringeth the idea, but then genius would also taketh the idea away. I had lots of those. Dammit. 😄
I can sort of see why you changed the channel name. But I must say, that "Bill" was fine as it was. It was like cargo pants - they may not be fashionistas or country club elites choice of the highest regard, but when it comes to practicality, ability, and down right coolness, cargo pants don't need elites' opinions - they work just fine whether someone has an opinion about them or not 😄 Another stellar track! I was watching bunch of videos about relativity and black hole simulations today. This was a fine soundtrack over which to digest all the info. 👍
You are probably right, I am just 'Bill' prefer cargo's and don't even have a middle name. My other hobby is astrophotography which I thought could somehow make its way into this channel. There should always be room for space stuff 🙂 The images on this channel were taken from my backyard using my telescope. Prawn Nebula on the banner and my favourite, the Helix Nebula in the thumbnail. Read up on the Helix Nebula, it really is a marvel and sits in its own part of space, far away from other nebula and galaxies. Very much appreciate your comments, keeps me motivated to keep producing.
@@the_astro_garden Wow, The Eye of Autobot - nice! I thought one has to get out to the orbit to Hubble that up. Obviously not. I used to follow Astrobackyard guy for a while, but since i haven't graduated past Moon photography which wouldn't look like that of a light bulb, I kinda let it go. Plus synthesizers are cheaper on G.A.S. 😜 P.S. Nothing to stop you to have two channels - less confusing for the googly A.I. to algorithm eyeballs to synthesizer music or astro pixels accordingly.
@@mack_solomoon photography is difficult to do as well. Such a technical hobby and G.A.S. hell! I may sell a telescope to pay for my Hydra’s! Not sure if I’m ready for a RU-vid Astro channel, barely have time for this stuff.
.... OOoooH BillyBoY..... ....... WHaT a Sensual , Hypnotic and Transiant Piece of SoundScapping youve Created Here Just Emmence Tones n Pads , Beautiful movement and Rythem . GREAT WORK Bro.
Was the rack for Pro-800 the result from a trip to Bunnings or did you get one of the shelf? I find the local offers rather limiting, and pricey, so for me it will definitely be a Bunnings option 😀
Just wondering: what made you double up on Hydrasynths? Obviously Deluxe has got more power, but then diversifying with something else would create more breadth. Not that I'm diminishing any ASM synths. Everyone should have at least ONE 😄
A few reasons I guess, the interface is easy yet the sound design possibilities are very deep. I can create patches on any Hydra and then transfer them to any other Hydra. It's more about compatibility, convenience and less time wasted on learning new synths, especially after a break. I also think that the Hydrasynths themselves offer such a broad sonic spectrum that they can each sound totally different. On that, just picked up the Explorer as well, so much synth for that price and the portability means patch design on the run, not bound to a studio desk. That patch can then be loaded onto any of the Hydra's later, again with the very user friendly and familiar interface between synths.
Synths, I much prefer hardware and synths with macro controls or simple knob per function are a preference for tweaking live. If I intent to record then I’ll always have the DAW recording. Besides the Digitakt, I gave up on hardware FX and sequencers. Plugins for sequencers and FX just make more sense, cheaper and easier to use.
I'm a bit heartbroken. I think i killed my Keystep by accident. I was playing something and all seemed to be ok, but upon another session the keystep would not fire up. Only then did I realise I might have plugged in the wrong adapter cable - they had the same size plug, and it looks like I plugged in the 15v instead of 9v. So yeah, tip of the day: don't do that 🤪
I had a pleasure of rummaging through all your videos today. You have a great setup - that's obvious. But what's more valuable was how much of your work i liked, and, what was even more surprising, that the RU-vid algorithm had made a channel suggestion which didn't suck in the first place 😄 I'll plug in some random comments in your videos so hopefully the YT algorithm will keep paying attention to your channel 😃 And thanks for sharing - it's been a real pleasure to be listeneing to your work today. 👍
This is really beautiful and evocative, I think you capture that dawn's warmth very nicely. Lovely sounds from the Hydra in particular - she is one of my favourite noises outside the 'Rack, so rich and warm. Very inspiring!
