That motor and trans would go great into the green truck!!!…..toms refurb just put the same setup in his single cab and the trans fit right in suprisingly……but yea the ‘54 would be a good home for it too!!!!! …..out of all the cars/trucks , which is your favorite???
I tried Detroit axle drilled slotted front and rear on my Duramax and the pads squeaked terribly out the box. I replaced the pads with PowerStop and have been driving on them for 15k miles no problems so far. Rotors still look good, and no squeaks.
Be thankful you have disk in the rear! I had a last minute 600 mile trip to pull a trailer a few weekends ago. Leaving I didn't notice anything. Pulling in for gas halfway, metal on metal. Inside pad on the front right side froze. Finished the drive in. I had to pick a trailer up by noon on saturday or I was stuck until Tuesday (holiday weekend). Tired all of my buddies and nobody around. No garage to work on it and very limited tools. Likely I could have just bought a Clamp and put a new rotor and cheap pads to get back to the driveway where I could fix it. Took it a shop. 600 bucks later. I had new rotors and pads up front. The rear drums are trash though. Leaking axle seals... That is my next job on the 08. They had drums that year. Drums suck! Going to send it with new wheel bearings for the rear as well as they maybe have been run a bit dry with the leaking seals. I guess I could have new truck payments or old truck problems!
Good video and like the idea of treating like a driver. Was thinking possibly go with something like this or a dual piston from a tahoe/suburban. Never knew POR had a caliper paint those looked really good especially when everything put together.
Trick I have used before when changing calipers is to press and hold the brake pedal down all the way before removing the line, this should keep the fluid from dripping constantly
The more videos I watch it still amazes me how similar we work as far as material and parts and meticulous methods. Things always cost me more and take longer as I’m just like you doing it right the first time
I’ve had good experience with power stop. The E brake thing would kill me as I use mine every time I park from habit. That por 15 is the best. Good job on that
@@TWAMotorsports definitely! My front power stops are great I’m hoping the one rear was just warped a little or something from factory. But it irritated me that they would do returns or anything on them so going to try Detroit axle
Detroit squeaks 10 minutes after installation and they don't return or exchange! Also there's 2 different sizes. Like the 2500hd. Also quadrsteer is different as well
Great video but here is a tip you may or may not know. When you are removing the wiper arm, loosen the nut until the top of the nut is about one thread higher than the stem. Then when you pull up on the arm and tap with the hammer there will be no chance of damaging the threads on the stem. This works on ANY size of thread or nut. Either way you got it off and all is well. Thanks for the great video and have a great day.
Will this swap work using the interior of a 2000 Silverado 2500 to a 1500? Interior wiring from doors to dash and seats. I assume doors and seats can be made to work. Was unsure of the dash wiring/cruise control/etc.
He didnt mention 2 oz oil in the compressor, 2 in the dryer and 2 in condensor If the refrigerant has leaked out so has the oil,,if the system is black like that the lines need to be flushed and the condenser and dryer replaced ,otherwise it wont last long
I just did this on my 98 Camaro really cleaned it up. I used 1 3/4 hole for the passenger side and it was a perfect fit nice and clean. I would say that’s the smallest hole you could go with.
dang that’s some expensive prices. people in AZ are cheap and i can’t even get $200 for a set of camaro seats in great condition. ughhhh. i’ve got so many parts
Everyone always asking why why why? You do you brother. I’d do the same on that car. Keep the drive train and harness/computer and sell the rest. I know exactly why you are doing what your doing 💯
