I'm having trouble finding information about how to adjust treble and such things. If I go into the audio setting on the bar I only get the presets. There's probably a way but the manual tell no tales. How do I do? Or does this simply allow bass settings only? I've looked everywhere and been deep in all settings and now I just feel dumb.
@@techpulseYT Yeah that was pretty much it! 700 has only presets and bass. 1100 has treble and more. But I'm not crying because the presets are actually awesome.
I believe it just has HDMI ARC output but it’s a while since I reviewed this product so it might be worth checking the specifications on Harman/Kardon’s website 😆
Hi! Could you recommend this soundbar for a PC instead Speakers as I will stay next to the soundbar (around 50 - 60 cm)? i want use it for music and movies. And thanks for the review.
That might be too close for this kind of thing! You’d be better off having a left and right speaker, it’ll give you a much nicer sound stage! I have some old Bose Companion 3 for editing and they’re golden!
@@techpulseYT Thank you for your advice. I was seeing videos of Edifier S3000 pro and I am in passion with them. Incredible sound (but very expensive).
@@techpulseYT it’s not a proper one it is a Z model one, but when it’s all done if Adam does get one I’ll take photos of it and send it to you so I can have a look at them
Hi! I didn’t get chance to use these on a turntable but all I can say is, set the volume low on the speakers and bring it up to a comfortable level slowly once music is playing. Best way to find the right volume for you! ☺️
Hi Which non Amazon Echo speaker is the best to use with Alexa, this Mania, a Sonos like the One or the Move, the Bose Portable smart speaker or the Formation 2021 from Bowers & Wilkins?
Great question! They all offer different things. So if you're on a bit of a 'budget', the Sonos One is ideal. The Move is great if you want portability and decent sound. Alternatively the Bose is there if you want their sound signature. The B&W Formation is great if you're looking for a much more premium sound, and the Mania is the best choice if you're looking for premium sounding portability all in one.
Good question! I haven't personally tried the Vifa Oslo so I can't say its better or worse than the Mania. However, I know the Mania is a newer product, and certainly sets the bar high for compact, premium portable speakers. And I can imagine it certainly takes the lead in the low frequency band, purely due to Devialet's ability to produce physically powerful bass with the SAM technology and dual active woofers. I hope this helps!
The main issue is, all this portable speak has is : bass. Henceforth, it is dominating the rest of the spectrum, with recessed mediums and highs lacking of a real sparkle. Well built, classy, nice to use, lacking its main point of reproducing a decent stereo image, and a more pleasant sound signature.
From my testing I never found the bass to drown out the rest of the sound. Yes it’s very prominent and a lot more audible than any other portable I’ve tested, but in an impressive way. Mid range could perhaps be boosted a little, but this is merely EQ in a sense. The highs are definitely there, nice and crisp when you hit the 60%+ listening region. The real party trick is the fact the mania keeps Devialets sound signature, and plays such low frequencies in such a compact package
Thanks for the question! Id say the Beolit 20 has slightly more weighting in the treble, and a harder bass, meanwhile the mania has a bit of a warmer mid/treble mix, and the bass is much lower! The low end is one of this big USP’s as a devialet product, it plays some of the lowest bass I’ve ever heard from a portable let alone one this small!
Much more definition! It’s a different league really, I’ve never heard a portable produce such prominent low end bass like the Mania does. Obviously with the woofers being active, and opposing, the output they generate is very full and powerful for such a small speaker. And of course the mania is more useable, as it’s not specific to apple products, nor is it tied down by a cable! 😁
I have a BoomBox 2, it’s most definitely louder… but it has no where near the quality and detail of the Mania, and the bass is boomy, it’s got great mid bass, but it struggles to play anything below 60hz, and sub 40hz is almost absent. The new Boombox 3 looks great and has a dedicated woofer in the front, but it still doesn’t play the frequency range that the Mania achieves, especially in the low end. That’s the main difference here, the Mania has Devialets sound signature and performance, and they are of course a very premium audio brand! The boombox is an excellent party speaker, the Mania is aimed at true audio quality and a full, undistorted and dynamic frequency range/performance.
Thanks for the review.. Is there any way to disable the automatic turning off after 30 minutes ? This is makes dependence on the annoying remote.. hope they're is a solution beacuse it is the only problem im having with those speakers.. Thanks
Thanks for the question! If I’m completely honest I’m not entirely sure, sorry! I’m sure there is a way to, but obviously it just does this to help reduce power consumption when not in use!
Certianly not cheap! But being devialet, in terms of sound for a portable, it sits in its own league as it’s premium audio. It does sound incredible, very pricey but I guess it depends on how much you love audio 😁
it is worth every dollar I just got it and omg it does not sound like what ur hearing in the video… in person that bass hits ur chest hard and its so clean and voice and instruments sound so freaking clear
@@turtlegaming2098I’m so glad you’ve commented that! Because I can’t stress that enough, the sound test is fair enough… but it really does not do this speaker the justice it deserves. The bass is absolutely spot on when you consider this can be taken anywhere, and of course, it’s Devialet, say no more!!
Hey ! Im new to bookshelf speakers.. I know its a weird question and there are price differences but how would these compare in sound to a normal indoor bt speaker.. like a harman/kardon play+go ?( thats the one i know what it sounds like) And what are the competetors of this model ?
Thanks for the question! Bookshelf speakers are a very pure quality, flat sound. Great for enjoying high quality music in a non ear-fatiguing way! An indoor Bluetooth speaker from h/k for example would sound better to an “average consumer” because it has “more” bass, because it has a very treble and bass heavy sound. Bookshelf speakers on the other hand offer a nice gentle balance between all aspects of sound
@@techpulseYT Thanks for the reply ! Im in a very awkward position because want more bass in the speakers for bass music/edm but i also want to listen to jazz with a clean flat sound.. Do you think it would work that i turn up the bass and treble when i listen to music that needs more bass or it would still sound very flat compared to the h/k ?
It would most definitely sound flat, and especially with these ported design speakers, you’re not going to get any kind of deep bass out of them whatsoever. You’d need to introduce a subwoofer to get anything like that with these speakers. If you’re looking for bass, take a look at my Sonos 5 review! That speaker has crisp treble, and very nice bass, it performs especially well in the low bass department to the point that im still very very impressed to this day!! The bookshelf would sound lovely for jazz but then again, the H/K speakers sound ‘nice’ anyway. I suppose it all depends on what you want. If you’re primarily after the bass, H/K etc all the way. If you’re wanting the quality more so, the bookshelfs. If you’re happy with the quality on a h/k speaker, check out something from the citation range (sold at premium sound uk too!) as that’ll still play your jazz music nicely, but you’ll have the bass when you want 🤘🏻
Hey man, so I have a question. Do these speakers have a standby mode? If so, how do you get it out of standby mode? I’m hoping it is auto standby and autowake. Appreciate it!
As far as I’m aware they didn’t! You have a little remote as shown in the video; and you can click them off using that. Then when you want t use them again just press the button and they fire up straight away! I Hope that’s clear and helpful? But as far as I’m aware it wasn’t a standby mode as such
Bought this about 8 months ago and it's really good but definitely goes to a new level with the citation sub s. I was close to getting a Sonos arc but I'm glad I went to the citation 700 with the sub. The sound when pairing them together is unreal and the bass does genuinely make the room shake.
Awesome! Adding a sub always enhances the bass performance so much, and H/K do this very well. The Sonos Arc, being a Sonos fan, in my opinion is very good, but this H/K bar when you consider the price difference, is mega 👏🏻 thanks for the comment!!
Great Video, A Couple of questions. Is this the WiSA compliant unit and is it possible to use it in conjunction with other different manufactures WiSA Speakers? Thanks
Thanks Paul :) And thanks for getting in touch… if I’m honest I’m not too sure about that, sorry! I know you can of course use it in conjunction with other multi room speakers from the H/K Citation range, but as for the WiSA situation, I’m not 100% sure on that one. Glad you enjoyed the video, it’s definitely a good sound bar 👏🏻
I was wondering the same thing as I am on the fence about getting the sound bar. I own 2 great subs already but I’m wondering if they will be compatible the the 700 since my subs are not WiSA compliant. Any info would be greatly appreciated!! 🙏🏼
So there’s 5 input methods for this bar! For wireless you have Bluetooth, and AirPlay for Apple devices over wifi. And for wired, there’s hdmi arc, optical, and aux. So if your TV has an aux port it should work through that. This does link up into the Google app for the Google assistant if course, but yes chrome cast generally uses the Smart TV when it comes to video, as the bar can’t exactly display anything. I hope this helps 😁
Fantastic video Harry! Loved the over all edit and the perfect amount of information. I’m currently house hunting so looking at getting some decent speakers when I move out, will know who to come to for help! 😎
Thankyou very much Grace!! Appreciate it a lot, glad you enjoyed it :) of course, nothing beats some good speakers. So I shall certainly do my best to help you there 👏🏻
Thankyou for the kind words! I’m really glad you enjoyed the video. It sounds a lot but it’s totally worth it, when compared to their competitors and given how they sound in person, a premium product but definitely one to please! ~ Harry
Hi there thanks for the question! I haven’t, but I did listen to some videos of gameplay to get an idea, and it’s a solid experience. Especially if you play games like call of duty, the bomb blasts and bullet sounds move around you a bit, with plenty of punch! If you play racing games, you get a nice enhanced sound from the car. Overall, it’s definitely suitable for that! Hope this helps
jacobmcc08 thanks for getting in touch man! So they should go for around 10 miles from what ive gotten in the past. Although it purely depends on rider weight, how fast you’re going and the landscape you’re on!
JP Vapours Reviews I do! It’s done about 350 miles now... but I had a battery replacement last year because it suddenly started dying after about 5 mins of use, but since then nothing... other than needing a new front tyre from so many miles haha. What happened to yours man?
TechPulse ah that’s good then The motor on mine just stopped working and handles snapped I sent it off for repair it come back and same issue happened again in the end I just threw it in a bush and was done with it 😂
John Tallant hi there, my guess would be the battery but depends how old t is and what charge cycle yu give it! If you’re close by to Manchester, pop in the store! I’m in there today with the guys and they’ll help you out happily
@@techpulseYT Thanks for getting back to me.i am in Dublin it is about 2 months old. When you go out on it with a full charge it lasts 5min. When I put it on charge after ten minutes the green light comes on.
John Tallant not close then!! Yeah it’s the battery then ☹️ will need a new one. Ring the guys in store on 01925909140 and they’ll get it fixed for you. Sorry to hear that but hope it helps
Craig Smith I’m only going by the information given from them to me! I said 2015, because that was after the certification has been granted and trading had the green light. Did you enjoy the video?
