Just did my Acuras Lights with this kit. Quickly realised that Power sandings was Dumb...Being both Klunky and V hard to properly control. Ended up using 800 Grit wet 'n dry I had on hand (not Kit supplied) to wet sand the lenses fully.. until the residue was no longer yellowish. About 5 mins Max. Then used 1500 (I had) for another ~3 mins. Had to use the wee 3000 Disc (agaIin by hand !) as I couldn't find my supply of 3000 ... Grrr. ONlY used the Drill for the Blue Foamy ball /polish Which worked well Lights are ~90% of new.. Be aware that the masking tape paint edge protection litterally falls off when wetted Another reason NOT to use a powerdrill As You risk chewing the hell out of the paint ...unless unnaturally carefull How long will they stay that way ..Remains an open question though. Short answer ONLY part of the Kit I found usable was the Blue Foam Ball and the Polish.
Very good video Hank, I've done a lot of these with hose cuffs wand and machine ends. Making up long hoses for my Lux and Royal tank vacuums. Reused many discarded hoses and cuffs.
A word of caution: be sure to use the appropriate bulbs, and I will explain what I mean by that. In older, pre-computerized cars that don't have the bulb out function indicators, nearly any bulb will work as long as its the correct voltage supported by your electrical system. But on the newer computerized cars, bulbs that have a different color base or different metal will have an entirely different resistance value, which means that the computer will indicate a bulb out condition even though the bulb is working fine. The computer will see a different resistance value than what it thinks its supposed to see and give you this issue.
Thank you for taking the time to show the process. Mine was running fine, I think mine may have plugged spark arrestor. Because it’s getting spark, fuel, & has good compression. Thank you!
I ordered a package of carburetor diaphragms and ended up changing one out on the same line trimmer. I couldn’t adjust the carburetor correctly until I found this video. Thanks for your advice on what to look for on the carburetor.
I bought craftsman kholer used and ised it till later summer, parked and wouldn't start, took air cover off and there was no air filter hard to know how long its been off before me, I cleaned carburetor, changed plugs and fuel pump. What else would need cleaned out from having no air filter on for extended time thank you for feed back
Hi, what if the carburetor doesn't have a nipple on top for the breather hose? Can you add a filtered hose onto the crankcase or does the carburetor need to be connected through that hose in order to function? Thank you!
GM has a lower temperature thermostat available under TSB#21-NA-199. Why wouldn’t we just do that? The new thermostat opens at 70C (158F) instead of 90C (194F). As i understand it the bypass leaves it open all the time, which keeps the fluid too cold and lowers MPG.
Sliming tires are fine. If you do get the tires replaced or tubes put in just let the installer know there is slime in the tires. In this case of this machine, I would just replace the entire assemblies anyways, but the slime has held the air in the tires fine. It’s a worn out wheel and tire set. Use your own judgement.
I am really struggling with this issue. In May early May i cut my grass and noticed it was running rough. After the cut I removed the carb, cleaned it and put everything back together. Now it won't start at all. Checked for spark and I'm getting spark. Only thing i noticed is that the float seems to not have the full freedom to drop down once i put the bowl back on. Another issue is that when i use starting fluid it STILL WILL NOT RUN. Help!
Awesome video, My customer brought in 2 Ws2200 Craftsman weed eaters they look brand new , 2019 &2020 Yr model. Both look like what you have there , There both clean as a whistle , That was my first response was straight gas , But there very versed on oil mix 50.1 . I just assumed it was cheap China made junk . Used parts scrap pile ,They went out and bought a stihl Fs56rc Model. Keep up the good work .
I just got my 2024 Subaru WRX three days ago, and it already happened. Very frustrating on a brand new car. I will try this fix later on, and keep you posted.
Real good content and very informative, I have power trim 2 h p 109 cc was working good , last time made squealing noise upon staring at recoil housing, it shut off and will not start again , tried cleaning carb, checked spark is good , fresh gas sounds like it wants to start but does not, has compression, I tried looking for new carb, can’t find same kind, carb has a single fuel line into fuel tank, newer carbs come with feed tube and return tube, it won’t fit on old fuel tank of power trim model 100 , any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thanks a million.
Is there a CARB adjustment screw on this model? I have this model and can't find it anywhere! Also, I'm getting Fuel in my air filter constantly which makes me believe the carburetor needs replaced. ANY Advice would be great, taking to shop around here is 50-75$ and hour so Be cheaper to invest that money in a new one
I had used the cone and oil type air filter before, it damaged both the MAF and MAP sensors to the point I had to replace them. After I switched it to another brand that is the dry filter w/o any oil needed I had no issues. My take on the drop-in type that is oiled might not damage the MAF sensor as fast as the cone type cos the airbox reduce the turbulance of the airflow with a lot of obtacles. So the oil takes a while to reach the MAF sensor. If you wish to use the cone type, my take is to rinse off most of the oil and cover it with the dry charger mesh.😜
Yep. I have an early 1970s Montgomery Ward Canister Vac which I salvaged in 1976 and will not give up on. It still has all its might. Most canister bags, as different as some can be, will fit. The hose could use some work as you described. Thanks!!
