I much prefer this to the San Martin because for some reason SM just can't get patina correct. They also don't do a proper raised top hat crystal. They do them, but not as pronounced as this model which looks much more like the Steve McQueen Explorer II. The only knocks I have for this is the date wheel is not patina and the crown isn't signed. Fix those things and give a glide lock clasp and it's a perfect watch.
I have the white cased version. I changed the display to positive (black digits) using polarizing film. There are lots of videos on RU-vid of hiw to do this.
place your light on your side. you would create a more interesting light/shadow play and it would NOT interfere in the watch crystal so much... we can't see the dial very well that way
Genuine leather doesn’t mean it’s good leather.. in fact genuine leather is considered to be fairly cheap material. If you want good leather, look for leather products that say top grain leather, or full grain leather … these are higher quality leathers over genuine leather. It’s a clever marketing tool to name the worst type of leather genuine leather because it makes someone who isn’t educated on leather think it’s of higher quality. Don’t be fooled that strap is going to break down on you very quickly.

Just ordered this watch and look forward to seeing how it wears. Many of my watches are vintage and so I look forward to seeing how vintage this looks in reality and how it’ll fit in my collection. It’s also my first Addisdive, hate the logo and wouldn’t but it if not sterile. Strap will probably be swapped immediately upon receipt for a tan leather if it suits it.
The strap I’ve put it on is worth 3 or 4 times it’s value, as was doing nothing in my strap box. It’s on a tan Ostrich leg watch strap and looks awesome.
