Is it ok to give housecats a bath/shower? Just avoid getting their face and ears wet/soapy? There's this youtuber who washes her cats like, monthly. Also, is it ok to have your dogs jog on cement sidewalks as you run? Or can you get padded running shoes for dogs so their feet don't get cut up? Thanks!
I tried feeding my cat wet food twice a day but she threw up more often. Now I feed her wet food in the mornings only and then fill her dry food bowl twice a day. She hasn't thrown up anymore. Her cat fountain was a great investment, she drinks sooo much more water now
What is Congress doing To deal with global warming? That’s almost hysterical… They’re doing nothing. Especially the Republicans who don’t even believe in global warming. And the public is so stupid they keep voting them in. And what to do to protect your cat? Turn on the air conditioning! And if you don’t have air conditioning you have no business having a pet.
Hi doc, i know this is a very old video, but i wanted to know if AIM injection for cats suffering from kidney disease actually works... Heard people say its a very promising research. What do you think of it? Will it actually prevent and perhaps even stop chronic kidney disease from advancing further, in cats?
I still don't understand why my cats don't want to change foods. He disliked wet food, and he always want to eat that tuna kibbles. When I changed the brand, or when I buy salmon kibbles, he don't want to eat it. Is that a problem or is it just my cat taste buds is weird?
Even our furr babies look ok, it's our responsibility to bring them to vets so that chronic diseases can be avoided. This is so challengjng to owners that have many cats.
The information is so very helpful but I don't know how I am going to afford to take my little girl to a specialist. The vet can't help her diarrhea and said she needs an ultrasound. You have to be very well off anymore to own a pet. I'm sick with worry and I just adopted her from the shelter 7wks ago and they gave her a clean bill of health, I have the paperwork. I think they must have known at the shelter she had chronic diarrhea, how could they have not?
My cat is taking his last breaths 😢😢😢 his had a kidney failure his creatine is 14.3 which is very high 😢😢😢 he os just 6 months old but he left us very early he is still alive but in 1 day he will be not here 😢 pray for my cat guys plz we tried our best to give a life to her but....😢
I'm confused on whether you should or should not put a cool wet towels on or under a cat?..a video I watched before this one said not to do that..to prevent shock?.. isn't that the same as cold packs?..
thank you so much for your videos. we have a 16yo cat with asthma and we did all these tests and were worried the vet was overdoing it. it's hard to understand when you have your sick buddy and you're stressed, but you explained it so nicely I can understand we are doing the right thing❤
My cat was given the kitty magic IM sedation at an urgent care vet recently and they couldnt complete her exam and said she was still "very much awake and aggressive" even after sedation. Why didnt they give her more? The notes say "patient was given .11 ml of each of the following meds mixed together IM, ketamine, butorphanol, dexmedetomidine." It is unclear to me if that means .11 ml altogether or .11 ml of each drug. In the past, other vets used an isoflurane box chamber to sedate her for exam. I stopped going to that vet after reading about how stressful and dangerous those are. But will kitty magic not work for my cat or did this vet just not use enough? Please reply. We got no answers and need to go to another vet. Also, do you do online consults?
Hi Dr Uri, would you be able to do a video on reverse sneezing vs asthma attack? I took a video of my cat and a vet said it is reverse sneezing. I couldn't tell the difference between both. Thank you very much
My dutch vet has been treating my cat for hairballs and infections already. Last time he suggested she is sensitive and should change a diet. All because of the cough just like that
Great video! Thank you so much. You seem like a very good person and excellent veterinarian. I have just subscribed to your channel. This is my first time watching one of your videos. Thank you for making them and helping people with their pets.❤
My cat passed away in March from complications related to this condition.Heart failure and kidney disease. The vets didn't pick it up until it was too late. She was 15 years old and had lost so much weight, but she fought it so hard. The rapid panting breathing, a possible heart attack, loss of appetite and bouts of diarreah. We could not administer any SubQ fluids at home, she resisted so much causing her so much stress and panic, so we decided to give up on it rather than risk cardiac arrest After a very rough final night where she seemed in a lot of distress we made the impossibly gut wrenching and sad decision to have her put to sleep. She was my gorgeous Cornish Rex who graced me with 8 of her 15 years. Her name was Pixie and she took a piece of my soul with her. Life will never be the same or as happy without her 😢
I have 3 with IBD. Two have been scoped (1 top and bottom for $15,000, 1 top only for a lot less), and no one mentioned anything about full thickness biopsies. I'm going nuts trying to help my cats out, steroids, diet changes, vitamin shots, probiotics. I'm worried I'm going to loose all 3 of them.
My four year old has been wheezing as demonstrated in the video however he has never thrown up hair balls before, could this also be related to asthma? And he has had dental problems before and still does to some degree, is that also a reason for asthma?
I'm so glad you are letting people know about NOMV. You brought them up in a video two years or so ago and I'm happy to tell you I've been donating monthly since. Mr. Pirate has such a great face, so sweet.
Dear Dr, my cat has some tooth issues and my vet suggests to do teeth cleaning. She's 12 years old though - is it safe to put her under GA? We did bloodwork this week and everything is good and in normal range. My vet assures me it's safe but I am still worried. Hope to hear your kind thoughts on older cats and GA. Thank u.
Thank you. My Rio and I are trying to figure out what is ailing him right now. I feel like I’m seeing him slowly leaving me but you’ve given me hope. I’ll be sure to go better prepared to the vet visit this coming Wednesday.
All I can say is advocate advocate advocate for them. I went to 6 different vets. Used first exam coupons read tons of blogs with owner experiences. I googled each of the items on my cats blood work and even if it was in the “normal range” but for example closer to the low or high number I would search “low X” or “high X” and then save any diseases associated with those ranges. It’s really up to us to save them. Wishing y’all the best of luck ❤
One issue I have about automatic litter boxes, is that it's expensive, and I have no way to know if my cat would like it. I have two litter boxes, cleaned every day. My cat mostly uses one, but sometimes uses the second one.
