I think this is a mismatch of love & it’s unfair for person most in love. They are worst position do most & care… I highly doubt person not in love does more. I think saying it romantically & beautiful way is best yes they may crush you but it’s best. Use your personality however it is & say something like I want to love more deeply we started as friends & my love for you grew deeply maybe a time or moment. Explain it & she may have hesitation say I want to love you more deeply. If she says no or is repulsed say it’s not fair if you are not my future gf if I love you this deeply so give me some space to adjust. I have a female friend who I’ve known for over 10 years. We used to hangout a lot but haven’t hung out in 6 years but stayed in touch. I like her and want to date her.
