This channel is designed to share my life experiences from the outdoors to the prjoects I complete. I will also share tips from my career as I aim to share how awesome life can be.
You made a great choice. I am a Suzuki and yamaha tech for 18 years and work on them all. It's hard for me to pick a Suzuki over the Yam they are both so goo but the mer
I want the maximum speed, so i went for a mercury 115 pro xs. Super happy with the merc. Its running smooth and is faster than other 115 hp motors with the same boat. Strange the merc is quit a bit faster.🤷♂️
Makes sense, pro xs is a fast motor, are you running a steel prop. Get rid of those lead batteries and go 100% lithium and you will see a huge change in speed.
@@Thestrikezonetv steel prop indeed. Why does a lithium batterie makes a difference? I never heard of that one. I am now running on a gel batterie, i dont onow if that makes a difference?
@@Thestrikezonetv i like that, weight does make a difference for sure, the 115 pro xs is about 360 lbs in weight. The boat is crazy light, its about 700 pounds, its going like a rocket🤣
Just found your channel and everything you’ve done sounds incredible but you’ve never mentioned the trailer ?? I say that because the shape you found the boat in I wonder or I’m curious about the trailer situation. Trailers take a beating and it’s probably one of the most important parts of a boat outfit. Just wondering how you dealt with that part. Great videos I just subscribed !! 👍👍
Great video! I put a 2018 Suzuki 250 SS on my 2005 Triton TR-21X. Here is a link to my video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sXsd6UMas6c.html
Would love to see a few fly-by shots of your boat running flat out! Also, where did you buy your outboard? Did you make a video of the restoration of the boat Gelcoat? It looks really good. Nice work!!
Suzuki is simply the best. I’m on my second Suzuki. Running a ‘18 250SS on my ‘18 Falcon F205 and it’s awesome. It’s simple, it’s bullet proof and for all the haters it’s 250hp at the shaft just like the SHO and ProXS. Propping is tricky because it’s a two stage gear reduction but it’s worth it!!
Friend repowered with suzuki 250, were keen on Yamaha until they saw price, not sure where the gold plating was on Yamaha but wasn't visible.. Love Suzuki so quiet at idle plus 10-15% cheaper to run than 20yr old 225hp Yamaha it replaced.
I had a 2019 Suzuki DF 200 and loved it. Sold that boat but maybe one day I will get another boat. One thing on Suzuki that other brands don't do is timing chains vs timing belts. Yamaha if I remember correctly says to replace the timing belt at like 500 hrs or something. That is an added cost that many don't talk about. Suzuki motors are great motors but also little maintenance cost as well. Oil changes are very simple at least for me. Your in fresh water so all the anoides should last longer as well. Impellers are around the same cost across all brands under the 300hp range I believe. Suzuki has better hole shot vs the others based on the gear ratios and prop size. Also one of the most fuel efficient 4 strokes out there.
Hey bro love the channel. Let me know if you're ever in the Richmond VA area. All I run is Suzuki too. Lets do some offshore fishing if you're up for it.
Glad you're happy with yours. I put a 250 SS on a 209 Gambler and it has been a nightmare setting it up. Running a 14.5 32p small hub Suzuki prop with exhaust ring to get the speed I want but adjusting the center of gravity for the extra weight of the motor hanging off the back of the 10" jack plate makes it real sketchy on pad. Also the extra weight is sinking the stern below the rub rail when floating, took out 110 pounds of battery weight to compensate but is still sitting low. Rub rail 1" above water. I might have to put some weight under the seat to get the center of gravity right. Only comfortable running 72mph right now but don't really trust it from getting out of control.
Tell me about your prop again...I have the same engine and anything more than a 22pitch I can't get full RPM. The boat is a 23' bay boat that weighs about 1600lbs center console.
Great video I just applied for TFA I pray I get accepted my top school placement choice is ATL. Can you do videos on creating lesson plans, your interview w/a TFA recruiter, interviews w/ schools who called you. How you deal w/disrespectful students and parents and the obstacles you dealt your 1st yr teaching
Great looking boat, congrats. I have a 97 Stratos with a 2020 Yamaha Vmax 150 on it. Out of all the boat videos I have watched, no one ever mentions or has a blow up dingy on board. You can buy a cheap one at any Wal Mart, they come with the pump. I store it in the large fishing rod compartment. I keep one on mine for worst case scenarios. If I start going down for whatever reason, I'll inflate that bad boy then abandon ship. Id suggest you pick one up my friend.
I have the Mach 2 7" spinning rod paired up with the Piscifun Carbon X3000 spinning reel and together they feel perfect. Caught Bluefish, Sea Robins , Blackfish, Sea Bass, big 20"-22" Fluke with confidence. Highly recommend....
Im looking to buy one but im fishing northan pike, muskellunge, walleye,bass,sturgeon.... so some of theme are pretty big so im wondering if the rod or reel is good for 20-35 pounds fish ?
