Fuckin crazy good....discovered them by accident... wonder why they never had commercial success given the incredible talent assembled and their awesome Jams.
Love JH's accents when he changes them up depending on the song. JPJ's bass playing is just effortless and made to look so easy. DG's drumming is on point, giving various complex paterrns. All round solid band. Hope they come back at some point.
John's Spinning outro would make the others realise that these hands created No Quarter, particularly the live versions where Jonesy sat to the piano to improvise while Page and Bonham were having their prescription backstage...
Just picked up their album from my local library shearly out of curiosity because of the cool artwork. Told my friend that they sound alot like QotSA. Then I found out why. Then I found out the drummer was Dave Ghrol. Idk why it took a random CD pick at a library to be lucky enough to know about this band.
Still come back to listen to this a few times a year. What a great performance. I like how all the band are looking at john paul jones in awe at the end when john is improvising on the keys like the rock god he is. Love Dave grohls drumming on this track too....💥💥💥
Few artistic endeavors are monuments of creativity, deceptively placed skill, the obtuse, the intentionally tongue and cheek absurd and simultaneously apathy, the ethereal. This Monument is….
What a joy that these fuckin legends made their friends/fans/followers this beast of an album. I love that they went all out on it and made something so fast & technical
