yo just in reply to the guys out there questioning his cymbals, ALL Zildjian: 20" K Custom Hybrid Ride (or 20" K Custom Ride) 19" A Custom Crash (or 19" K Custom Hybrid Crash) 18" A Custom Medium Crash (or 17" K Custom Hybrid Crash) 18: FX Oriental China "Trash" 14" FX Oriental China "Trash" 14" K Custom Dark HiHats (14" A Custom Mastersound HiHats) 9" K Custom Hybrid Splash (or 9" Oriental "Trash" Splash) Matt also uses two CUSTOM "Zil-Bels" that he designed in the Zildjian factory to sort of mimic the sound of the Zil-Bels, only the way he thinks they should sound. I've put cymbals he uses currently and cymbals he's used previously (such as Constellations tour), but I'm not certain which his official splash is currently as I've seen current videos of him playing with both. As for the rest, I'm almost certain the ones in parentheses were past, and the ones not are current.
Hardcore dancing is just about the dumbest thing ever. As a black dude that adores metal, i am seriously contemplating coming up with a dance metal heads can band their heads to and move around while not looking like idiots haha ! :]
well its like bands do this because they love interacting with the crowds and seeing their music emotional affect them to the point where it manifests into physical movement, and nothing shows that better than witnessing a crowd moving to the music that you're playing for them. do you think ABR likes seeing a crowd full of penguins? you gotta give back a little man, makes the bond between band and fan that much stronger. its pretty much the sole purpose of playing shows.
i think id pay to stand around in the sun.. and i'd enjoy myself. some of us dont practice our karate moves in womens pants we like to watch musicians at work.. just because im not jumping around trying to accidentally kick someone in the face doesnt mean im not having a good time..
its just annoying because it's like who the fuck pays all that money and travels all that distance to warped tour just so they can stand around in the sun not enjoying themselves?
yeah the poly rhythm stuff is hard to explain without being able to demonstrate. Maybe you can find videos on here that demonstrate poly rhythms. They're easy to learn. What makes them cool is how you choose to utilize them, and what you use when playing them.
that went right over my head, i dont read or understand drum music. i just play it, i wanna learnn this song cuz it sounds hard as fuck at some points. but thanks anyway, and ive got the feet down:)
