Always love your adkentures, mate. I follow you guys because your vids are real and you and Gaz have such positive attitudes. Take your time and upload whenever you can and most importantly, enjoy. Cheers mates.
Thank you for the continued support and engagement mate! Always cool to hear from you in the comments section and glad to hear you're still enjoying them. Cheers legend!
Congratulations Jakey and Gaz from Jess and I! Been an absolute pleasure to tune into your adkentures. Keen as to have a fish with ya when you get back home 😊 keep on keeping on legends
Congrats mate, I stumbled across your channel and binged it, just love the rawness and the fact it’s not to polished. Also looking forward to your new direction with the videos.
Gday mate 👋 Thanks for the message. A hard question to answer really haha but I’d probably put them at about a 6/10 on the slippery scale. I’ve certainly fished from both less and more slippery rocks. Obviously the ones with water splashing on to them or the ones lower down which are more often under water seemed slipperiest. With that being said besides the part where I was jumping around after the fish I felt pretty stable. Was able to find a few pretty big flat dry rocks which I spent most my time on. Honestly I found the walk to the fishing spot sketchier than the spot itself. Certainly not a place to take lightly. You could always pop in to the Agnes Water tackle for some more up to date info, they seemed pretty helpful in there. Hope that helps legend, All the best with your trip ✌️
Happy to hear it mate! Glad you’re enjoying them. The Adkenture thongs will be missed 😅 Appreciate you following along and dropping a few comments to. Champion! 👍
It’s been a long time in the making but we got there! Iconic fish and iconic spot 👌 The trucks cruising beautifully mate! Thanks for watching and for the comment 🤙
Wilderness means untouched and uninhabited so not quite right to describe the Cape but ya definitely right in saying its beautiful thats why we live up here🤣🍻🇦🇺
G'day Helen 👋 Thanks for your comment and feedback. I had read the Cape being described as a wilderness area, although what you're saying certainly makes sense. A beautiful spot to live none the less! I bloody enjoyed my time there and can't wait to come back already. Cheers ✌
Gday mate 👋 Not as many places to fish on the way up as I was expecting but I was up there towards the end of the dry season last year. From south to north the main spots I fished on the way up were hann river, coen river, archer river, and the wenlock just before Moreton Telegraph station. Heaps of places to fish north of the Jardine crossing though towards the top. I’m not exactly sure of the map book unfortunately as I don’t have it with me at the moment. I think it was the Hema Cape York Atlas & Guide though. My main go to map book is “Camps Australia Wide 11”. That things a ripper, theres an app associated with it as well. All the best if you’re heading up that way mate. Beautiful part of the country. Cheers for the comment ✌️
As always mate, a great vid. The extra crispy statement cracked me up 😂😂 But good onya for staying safe out there. BTW, that ensuite is also great for telling the time 😂😂
Thanks mate I’m glad you’re enjoying them! 🤙 Safety doesn’t take a holiday as they say, gotta play it safe sometimes. Hahahaha you might be on to something there, maybe even a better option than using a termite mound 😅 Thanks for watching and for the comment legend! Much appreciated.
Hey guys, have just found your channel and am loving it! May I ask what you do for showers and toileting? Also washing dishes etc. Really interested in your set up for travelling so light, as in without a trailer etc.
Hey Jodie and Daz! 👋 Thanks for watching and I'm glad to hear you're enjoying! We found that the east coast was built up enough (with the exception of Cape York) that we were generally not too far from toilets and showers. We use an app called WikiCamps to help locate public showers, and also found that truck stops and big servos often had showers for free or for a small fee. We do also have a basic shower set up which we occasionally use for a quick rinse. I've run through that set up in a previous video which I'll link below, so feel free to check that out if you wish (starts at 2:43). We have a collapsable rectangular tub which we can use as a sink for washing dishes. This packs up really flat and lives behind our white chopping board which you can see is mounted on the front of the left drawer. We've gotten better at using less over time though and sometimes even wash dishes within the pot we've cooked with 😅. Deciding what to take and working out how to fit everything in certainly took some time. We got there eventually though and I love the set up exactly how it is 🤙 Thanks for the comment! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FYbUDh5mVpg.html
G'day mate 👋 Daiwa TD Black Slugger rod (think it's 8ft, 6-10kg), 5000 Shimano Stradic reel, 30lb Tasline braid, about 50lb leader down to 5/0 gamakatsu circle hook (i think). It was a while ago haha
Make the parts where you go over tough obstacles longer. but keep making shorts. there wasn’t much to “watch” other than multiple clips of you just cruising down the trail. Not very interesting. saw there was no comments or likes so maybe it’ll help?
Ahoy folks! I think my estimate of having traveled about 3500km from vic to this point was probably a little bit off. We've probably done more like 4500km since leaving home, but who's counting? (Clearly not me) 😂 Questions and comments welcome! I hope you enjoyed this episode. Thanks for stopping by 🤙
