Hey fellow’s, thanks for the shoutout!! And thanks for the hotdog 🌭!! I could almost taste it 😂 looked like a more enjoyable camp 🏕️ this time , even though it rained ! Cool seeing armadillo. Heard the chucks poor widow singing! Can’t believe you forgot your cot !! Good thing you had your tarp !! 👍🏻
I bought the catalyst 3 person tent, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the price and all the great reviews online. Sierra trading post is under the same owners as Marshall, tj max. They all buy extra supplies from companies and are able to sell them for a lower price. Sierra happens to focus more on outdoors supplys.
The weather in Houston during the summer is hot, humid, and generally miserable. I don't know where you are in Texas. However, I wouldn't "camp" outdoors in the Houston area during the summer without an air-conditioned RV with a lot of solar power, battery storage, and a gas or diesel generator backup.
Welcome to camping in a hair dryer. Nothing quite like sweat burning your eyes. I like it hot, can't handle the cold. Friend of mine married a Canadian and lives in GTA, She was telling me how your nose hairs freeze. NO THANKS I'll sweat. Sold my acoustic amp to a Canadian that comes to Texas for the winter.
You guys are some troopers !! A/C or not ! Nice brisket burgers! Too bad Mat got sick !! Glad he was able to stick it out !! You better get some sleep buddy 😂 Nice camp fellows !! 👍🏻⛺️🔥
Huge difference between outside and inside. Was a fun experiment to try, and it worked great! Good food, good fun, good company! Let's do it again soon! OH yeah, that tent is awesome, man!
I've had my vista 1 for prob 6-8 yrs, love it and works and looks like new. I do the same set up on the cot. I haven't added the extra rain fly, instead I went with a large tarp. I think your set up is better, in the rain, certainly dryer.
You're out of breath all the time, and it kind of makes it more relatable to me. You put in the air matress the wrong way in the Amok, but other than that I appreciate the comparison. Definately getting the Amok over the Haven, I want that chair mode and view you get with it.
Great vid, thanks, I personally haven't had an issue with the air pad but it's nice to see alternatives if needed! I went to a Bushcraft show in the UK and had a lot of people asking about the Haven. Haven seem to be a straight outfit , they have done masses of testing.... the weight testing alone, (check it out) I wish them luck. I was in the UK forces, but I don't want to 'rough it ' (at 73) Have fun x
I do like that setup of yours !! 115 degrees, my word !! 🥵 Hey, there o’l Mat 👍🏼 Wow , what a beautiful night you guys had !! Glad you two were able to get out !! Doing a great job on your videos 👍🏼😊🏕️
Have you used the Kakadu in the rain? Wondering if rain puddles on the flat top rain fly. Also was looking at the Teton and would like to know your pick of the two. Thanks
You done an awesome job showing this tent! I wished more people would show tents as well. I’m buying this tent! I do motorcycle camping and I think this tent will be perfect for me thank you for taking time to do the specks I now know my cot will fit lol thank you!!
@@freedomospeech8180 very welcome thanks for dropping by. Here is a video from my other channel featuring this tent with my adv bike. MotoGlamping/Aprilia Tuareg 660 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Jx7nCtMtBYk.html
Finding out all these lay flat hammocks need a air pad, from the haven to the nightcat, I am not just going with a portaledge. I've never once in my life had any air mattresses of any kind hold air for more than a few hours with weight on em. if you're SUPER lucky, MAYBE you'll find one that'll not go flat for an entire night... but… just not worth it. That an you have to treat em like princesses. I clean AND mop my floor before putting down the air mattresseses I have tried, and they'll still manage to get holes from seemingly nothing and start leaking. Not paying 340 EXTRA dollars on top of the 340 I already paid for the entire camping kit just to sleep on a leaky air mattress. They need to think of more clever ideas to make lay flat hammocks....
I don’t know, I have mixed feelings about the inflatable tents, for one thing marmots just love to chew on plastic and rubber. I’ve also read comments about them deflating when the temperature goes down at night kind of what happens with inflatable mats but I’d rather reinflate a simple mat than having a floppy collapsing tent on me in the middle of the night since I camp in high altitude.
