There was a Connie Stevens CD that supposedly collected all of her performances for Warner Brothers, but sadly, this song wasn't included there. Nevertheless, it's great to have it available on RU-vid!
Really like this version of the song, especially with the harp. Does anyone know when and where this music was recorded and who the harpist is? All it says is that this was noncredited music to the movie, what does that mean? Somewhere this must exist. Thanks.
Psychic to the Stars John Cohan who is an "Authority" on Connie Stevens enlightens us here on this factual data.Though the song was in the "Two On A Guillotine" movie (1965),It had been sung years before on Connie's tv series "Hawaiian Eye'.Connie played Cricket Blake a singer at the shell bar, each week she sang in the drama series. That show ran from 1959-63.In this movie "Two On A Guillotine" Connie has a new nose job.In her previous movie "Palm Springs Weekend" (1963) she still had her old nose.Connie's life went haywire when she married aspiring actor Jim Stacy in late 1963.Connie sang this song great because she only had a harp/music along with her voice.when she sang with more than three music backing, her tiny voice was over powered by all that..
I'm always tickled to hear someone with real talent singing a beautiful song. So many these days don't have the least notion of what a real talent with a good voice can do. There's so much warbling and wailing that passes for music these days, it makes me want to vomit and sit on the toilet simultaneously. At least that would somewhat cover up the din of noise that passes for music in the 21st century
Judging by the views of this video and other songs by Johnny Hollow, it seems this artist wasn't popular until quality meats was created. That video helped Hollow get some limelight.
It was something like 1994 when I went to Castle Music at Northcross Mall, Austin TX and it was a feature on a collection album of other artists on CD but not published on a Connie Stevens album... the song was found in the catalog but the CD had been discontinued. I was so sad and now I am so happy to find the song on RU-vid without having to watch the entire movie.
