Thanks Amber, I think that peace is one of the most important things I strive for. It is sometimes hard to just think that God can handle all my situations... But he can!
I love reading God's love letter to us. It's also very comforting to me to hear it read out loud. Pastor Robert I like your challange within a gentle reminder and places to start. ❤
I read the Bible . Now I'm reading * really trying to study it. I love the daily word. I spend early morning... reading & praying & having a relationship with Jesus! I bought a book Walk with Jesus A year of teaching & prayers to grow in faith & love!
2nd Timothy 2:15 'Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth' If only we all studied the bible like we studied for that critcal school exam, or licensing test, or vocational test or college degree. Can you imagine the peace and harmony that human society would live in? Thank you Robert for this mornings message.
So.....if we, dysfunctional folk are made in the image of God (34 Bible verses assert we are made in the image of God), then it is logical and reasonable to conclude that God is dysfunctional. The God worshiped by Western Christians, most especially evangelical Christians, is a Dysfunctional God. Now, THAT makes perfect sense to me. I mean, if I'm understanding the Gospel clearly - and, I absolutely BELIEVE that I am - it turns out that GOD SET US UP! It was not remotely by accident that Adam & Eve screwed up and were banished from Eden. It was by DEVINE DESIGN. God misled Adam & Eve, convincing them that they actually had a chance to live forever, free of aging and the corruption of death, "naked and unashamed" in Eden, when, from the very start, that was NEVER God's Plan. The Fall From Grace was HIS PLAN from the very start - all so God, having DESIGNED The Fall From Grace and ALL THE HORRENDOUS SUFFERING IN THE WORLD, could then cast Himself as the "HERO", a the Superhero of all Superheroes, and send HIMSELF to "rescue" all mankind (keyword ALL) and "save us" from "Sin" (an archery term meaning "to miss the mark" - evidently the real mark, the target, is WORSHIP of God), at (of course) great, Personal Sacrifice, just so He could surround Himself with His Eternally Grateful and Adoring Creation. God = Ego, and, Ego = God. If we agree that Mankind is Egotistical (and that is indisputable, it's part of our "dysfunction", though the ancient Asian spirituality shuns Ego), it is BECAUSE We Are Made in the Image of an Egotistical God, the Ego to End All Egos, the Alpha and Omega of EGO!
1 Corinthians 13:11 says, "When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put away childish things".
That is so cool I've been married 52 years we always talk about any problems we have I feel our relation is very strong we our truly blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ thank you
I’m so happy to see this subject being discussed. When I was much younger, I declared that I would never submit to any man, husband or not. I was really rebellious about that subject. As I grew older and more into the scripture and the LORD, I began to think differently about being “subject “ to my husband. I even told my Pastor that he, my husband, would never tell me what I could or couldn’t do. Many years later I had some “ spiritual “ mothers that were married many years. I watched the reactions between husband and wife and began to see something in their relationship and I really wanted that. I noticed that they were devoted to each other and desired to please each other. I sorta changed the word submit to devotion and it made sense to me. My husband and I were married 64 years when he died. I am now trying to be a “spiritual “ mother to many of the young women I have met and have a relationship with. I hope there are men tuned into this conversation because I know many men are very domineering and quote that piece of scripture declaring their wives are to obey them. Thank you both for sharing this, (in my belief ) it is very important for both men and women.
I’m a little late this week but, Kris, I think you did an excellent job in your presentation. Thank you and I pray people are understanding how important being in unity as believers and followers of Christ is THE most valuable part of being a Christian. ❤❤🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you, Jesse. For me, today's message is both convicting and encouraging in a most powerful way. The Holy Spirit is stirring something inside my mind, heart, and soul in ways I cannot explain. "Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, open the eyes of my heart. I want to see you... " 🥲🙌✝️🔥🕊
