@hang10surferz gotta use a thick gauge hook to help keep it down. But even then it'll still climb on the retrieve. It was spring/ early summer when I filmed this and blue gills were on beds up shallow. I was smoking bass on the gilly weightless. Running it right at the surface like a wakebait and pausing and letting it fludder down
I also have the Doviello HICC50. I purchased the 2 spool model. This allows me to use a xul rod for the shallow spool and a light rod for the deep spool.
I have two of them. They've become my favorite reels...one of them, anyway. I have one mounted on a lightweight 5' 6" rod with 15 lbs Power-Pro braided line. The other came mounted on a telescoping rod, spooled with 6 lbs mono. It rides around under the back seat of my truck, just in case. I don't get the noise thing, unless you're cranking on it like a cartoon character. The first word out of the mouth of anyone who touches it is, "Smooth!" I use the one on the 5' 6" rod in small, tree lined ponds, where casting space is minimum, but distance is needed. Sure it's a small reel and I treat it like one, but just like the kayak vs. full-on tournament rig, it has it's place and really shines.
At my grandfather's fishing spot we used to catch so many crappies he told us to toss them into the forest because they were taking over the bass population. Now that I know they are good food, they are in another world of trouble.😅
I have several Hobies, including a PA14. I love the PA14 for it's but it was super expensive and heavy as a dump truck! I race endurance races and have placed 2nd in pedal drive on the MR340 which is a 340 mile race (running the discontinued Revo16) but I can honestly say that I'm ready to switch to the Zulu.
I have all my fishing gear in my work van and often fish before and after work or any chance I get. I rarely go a day without fishing as it's my addiction. 😀
@whoisfishinpanda1572 I just turn around sit on the back of seat and lower it or pull it up. I know not everyone will be able to do that. But that's how I do it
Are you having any problems with the bait tearing and losing it during the fight? I’ve caught multiple on mine nose hooked. Just wandering how they do in the jig heads and such
