Welcome to Historsea - a maritime history channel where we’re going to dive into the history of all things related to sailing, the sea, and maritime travel hosted by Tim from the Sailing channel Lady K Sailing.
The boat sinks now. The boat sank yesterday. The boat has sunk. Learn your princiapal parts. swim swam swum, ring rang rung. run ran run. go went gone.
NASCAR for cars? As much as that phrase doesn't make sense, it is totally not like NASCAR, in any way except it is a race that Amerians sometimes participate.
Excellent overview of one of the most important developments in the history of our country! You cover all the key points in lucid fashion, noting historical observations, opportunities and challenges! Thank you!
Hi from NZ. Obviously AmCup is big deal here right now. I just gave a talk to the local University Scottish Interest Group on Thomas Lipton and the Americas Cup to try to link the stories of the early culture of "Yacht Clubs", Scottish immigration to NZ ( under sail ) and sailing culture in NZ through to NZs recent dominance. Thanks i enjoyed this. Look forward to your post AUS story.
Hi Tim, I've just discovered your Channel and am enjoying your videos & this one about the Americas Cup. Being a NZr I am very aware of it as we won it & have defended it a few times. In your video you mention the Victorian Great Exhibition in England but you keep calling it the Great Expedition instead. Clearly you have a mind to adventure. The Great Exhibition was designed to exhibit the most modern inventions of the day, especially Britain's. Thanks for your research. 😊
I have the same question as the previous commenter - where is part 2. You said “next week” but that was 9 months ago. This is a great video but you’re leaving us hanging just as the story is getting good! What happened? I hope you’re okay.
What I don't understand is why they didn't build the original canal directly to Lake Ontario and then build what we now know as the Welland Canal? It would have been much shorter as far as digging goes.
I'd be nervous driving a ship with an 80 foot draught.. there's a lot of places in the ocean with less than 80 feet, even some potentially unmapped areas. However, if one planned ahead with creating an off coast wharf that could service the ship(s) it could conceivably streamline shipping of heavy cargo, and save time!
I might have seen this ship in Yokosuka while on the Kitty Hawk in 77. We passed by a ship that from the hanger deck all I could see was red with her main deck well above us. I remember hearing that name but had forgotten it since. The other giant I saw was a crane that loomed well above the Kitty at the dock.
Moving an ocean tug and barge between Texascity and Fla and points north, we regularly slowed to allow prices to rise. On arrival, they always made room immediately.
I started watching your video but then I witnessed a humanoid that think by waving his hands around in front of the camera is entertaining and will win him likes and subscribe. Shame on the mess. This malcontent sees other do it so he does it . Monkey see monkey do. 🙈 as soon as I sawyour hands butterflying. Gone gone gone . SAND SALT AND A PIECE OF IRON IS EASIER TO BEAR THAN A STUPID MAN. PLUS YOU UPLOAD VIDEOS . it's not a channel. Boobtubers. Anything to make yourself FEEL MORE IMPORTANT. A INFLUENCER.. lmao
