Same. It's seriously a shame. I totally understand wanting to own a piece of history but knowing 5 years from now there will be nothing much to visit seems like too much of a price to pay.
Yeah I never talked to the owners. I just went down there for a minute or two. I would also like to note that I didn't take any of the chimney bricks. It seems to be pretty much depleted. As far as directions they are on the internet. If you want anymore tips as far as landmarks then email me. :)
Do not come out here alone. And especially do not go all the way up thoes steaps unless you want to get jump. As someone who has live here for 25 years I don't go up there unless I have to
