Hi! I’m Sam OT from abq, nm :) my passion is flamenco 💃🏻 song and dance. I dream to create a business combining flamenco and OT ✨ I love my work and I’m ready to work!
Great talk! Listening to it now and it truly resonates. 28 years as an OT and I still love it. I love it because I didn’t allow myself to be stuffed in to a box. Thank you ladies!
Hello! Great video! I’m an OTA as well and am very worried about my father which have become morbid obese over the decades, any tips on how I can help him? He loves food and hates exercise
Thank you. I am an OT who worked in Hands and also Neuro. And have taken 16 years to homeschool my kids. And am now learning ACT with the plan to move into mental health services, as an OT. I left working in a hospital in part due to finding a holistic view of the patient/client being a nuisance in the context that was very medical model oriented. These 16 years have taught me a lot about dialogue, patience, adapting and letting go of firmly held beliefs around child development, education/learning, and parenting. Learning Storytelling, Art, NVC, Focusing and having taught Nature Journaling and drawing. Anyway, I'm loving finding OT's who are talking about creating a model of OT outside of medical settings. Until 6 months ago I thought OT was something in my past, and I am excited to find myself reconnecting with it. I only plan to be fully working in 2/3 years (my studies are another 3 years)... but am going to look up Book Yourself Solid. Again, thank you ❤
We used the term ‘optimising’ in the development days of Kawa. What I like about this is that it adheres to one of the core principles of Kawa which is that there is no poetics or negative framing. There is only harmony and balance. Great video.
Hi I'm a male occupational therapy student in the UK. Once I graduate I aim to specialise in mental health. Learning about the expansiveness of of occupational therapy, and how it can be used with integrative health modalities just makes me soo excited!! modalities like EMR and EFT to be used with OT makes so much sense!! its so inspiring to see practitioners like you and Emmy Vadnais! You both bring the professions core values and philosophy to life!! I'm so glad Iv'e found you both. This is why my gut was telling me to study OT. This is what I sensed, even though I couldn't articulate it the time. Thank you again for inspiring me and fuelling me with the passion and excitement I will need to become a OT
I am a practicing OT in Texas. I just found your channel. I am 60 years old but still feel 30. I work in pediatrics and am a very spiritual person. I absolutely love you and your guest. Thank y’all for taking the time to share pieces of yourself as well as your work. This piece is so important. I really enjoyed your topic and guest. Keep up the good work! Patricia
Awww thank you Patricia! I appreciate you taking the time to comment. It is so lovely to connect with other heart-centered OTs from around the world! Debra is a beautiful soul in our profession sharing her gifts and shining her light! x
@@TheOTLifestyleMovement Thank you for replying. We would like to learn assessments, evaluations, interventions, session plans, precautions :) Is there any standardization in mobile pediatric OT?
So many people need to see this! I love it. I’m an OTS and want to be a resource to families, caregivers and our clients and this video really inspires me to want to start my own business in the future!
I'm an OT student and I really love your videos! They have taught me a lot and are very enjoyable to listen to. Thank you! I look forward to seeing more videos if you continue posting.
Love this model and your explanation! I am going to use this to gather information tomorrow from a teenager who enjoy art, I think it will be great activity, reflection and info gathering process! Alexa Aroha - OT from Sunny Coast :)
Thanks Rhiannon. Can you talk about" coping with compassion fatigue, burnout"? I know there are tips and techniques online, but I would like it to hear from an OT.
Truly inspiring Rhiannon. I am from a diverse background, there are lots of reservations talking about money from where I come from as well. You are not only providing me ideas you inspire me and reassure me too XX Devi
Such a valuable interview. Thank you Rhiannon and Kim!! I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner. I was lucky to Kim Barthel at a talk she and Theo Fleury did in Calgary with healthcare professions about what we can do to make things better. I felt so much excitement for meeting this OT goddess! That group discussion impacted me deeply.
Newbie solo practitioner here. I really appreciate your work Rhiannon. I don't feel like I'm isolated staying connected with your network and watching your videos. Go OT lifestyle movement♥️
I see there is capacity to use the natural environment in reflection ...people will see in nature elements that reflect their current state and often see examples that they relate to and serve as great triggers for reflection and can facilitate exploration of self
I've felt that feeling too Shane. I think it's a common theme for us OT's, as our scope is so broad, but it enables us endless possibilities if we dare to be creative. And agree - Bronwyn's approach is very OT!
Hi. This is really cool! I've been trying to search for a informative vid like yours that really explains everything in this vid! 👌 👩⚕️ The part at 1:18 is my favorite. Your content is similar to the channel from Doctor Ethan. Doctor's tips are insightful and he really helped me on my midterms. He is an educational Dr in the UK and he talks about medical school and health symptoms! I suggest you check his channel out and give the Dr a like! ➡️ #DoctorEthan
I'm an OT student from the Netherlands, currently taking a class on Social Entrepreneurship. I feel like this video was made for me! Thank you so much for sharing, it's given me great food for thought!
So glad you got so much out of it Sophie! The podcast is released weekly on major podcast platforms - Spotify, iTunes etc. Good luck on all your entrepreneur ventures.....go chase those dreams! xxxx
I am so grateful to all you OTpreneurs who have podcasts. This 2020 year has been an eye opener for me and has opened me up to starting my own OT private practice someday and actually makes it seem achievable. This is from someone who was NEVER interested in starting my own business prior to this year. You all are inspirational!
