Most of the plant material we sell in our retail store and online at The Plant Farm® is grown onsite by our parent company, Creach Greenhouse. Their motto is “Family Owned… Locally Grown ~ See the Difference”… and we think you will. Five decades later, this family grown business has grown on the exact farm it was started on in location in Spokane Valley, WA. We may be off the beaten path, but our roots are deep here at The Plant Farm®.

Follow the instructions on the fertilizer packaging, since each fertilizer has different application instructions. You mix the fertilizer with water and then apply it to the plant.
I was excited to read the name of this video until I watched it. I didn't see a thing you were showing. Maybe put a camera overhead so we can actual see what you're talking about and doing.😊
I bought two prayer plants and received a package I don't know if it's all or what it is but you should send instructions I love the plants I don't know what that little package is that came with them if it's dirt to mix to I will leave them in the pot that they're in for now until I get a answer
Oh MY!!!! Those are outstanding!!! How on earth do you get baskets to fill in like that so they look like a mound of flowers rather than just a bunch of petunias draping over the side of the planter?
Check out our Hanging Basket Care video, here on RU-vid, and you'll find out how we keep our baskets looking full and beautiful all summer long. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0yPQGrouwuI.html
I've got a soft spot for this plant too. Yes, contact of growing points to damp soil is key. My method is: straighten out a paper clip, bend it double to hair-pin shape. I stake the leaf closely against the soil, pinning either side of the central vein at the leaf base. The clips can be re-used over and over. The two small holes made in the leaf are harmless. The wet mother leaf dies as the roots form, but the resulting plant is strong.
We understand how it may look like that, but our plant specialist went with a larger pole because as she discussed in the video when asked what size of pole to use, she suggested using a larger sized pole, to accommodate the plant as it grows, because you do not want to have to pull the plant off of the smaller pole and have to reattach it to a larger pole as it grows. She also suggested selecting a pole at the height at which you'd like your plant to grow if your pot can hold it. Our plants are left in the plastic grower’s pot, but the plant was put in a nice ceramic pot that helped to stabilize the base of it with the pole. When it is needed, it will be up-potted.
Plant Farm! Hello! We lived about a half mile away from you, but moved recently to the south. Boy, is the south a plant culture shock! Many new beautiful plants here, but I miss some of my regulars…lilacs, and your huge hanging fuchsia and petunia pots! I’ve tried petunias & fuchsias (NO where near as nice as yours!) both, and they just don’t hold up to the heat!
Thank you for the nice compliment. It is amazing the different plants that we find in different areas of the country. If you're not using Jack's Petunia Feed you may try getting some of that and using it with your baskets. You can use it for both your petunia and fuchsia baskets. That's what we recommend and use on our baskets. It is available on our website along, with the Bonide Systemic. There are other places that sell it too.
I just planted some this weekend, I love wave Petunias, make my life so much easier. Question...my father always had me lay mulch after I had done my gardening. Would putting mulch over my beds right now still allow them to 'wave'?
We would not recommend mulching your flower beds, especially for petunias, because the mulch will suck up the moisture in the ground, then it is not available for the plants, especially since your goal is to have a blanket of flowers. If you are looking for a good fertilizer for petunias, we recommend Jack’s Petunia FeEd 20-6-22. We carry it in our retail store and it is also available on our website. You can also check with the local garden centers near you to see if they carry it.
We do not use hydroponic propagation in our greenhouse, so we are not able to answer your question in detail as to the success of using hydroponic propagation for lipstick cuttings. We prefer to use rooting power on our lipstick cuttings and place them in the soil and have found that they do very well.
Is Pilea the US name? There are so many names for this lovely little plant. Baby tears, angel tears, Mother of thousands, (Mind your own business)! The only one that when im asked I remember! Whoever came up with that is my bane. Also Corsican Creeper, mother of thousands , Paddy's wig and Irish moss. Even though its not a moss it does work well with them on pavements and cobble stones. I'm sure there's actually many more. My question is Pilea the US or Latin. I thought it was called Soleirolii. Thanks for the video I've subscribed. Also the floating plant conveyorbelt set up is like some mad max blade runner mars colony set up, it's great. Anyho cheers from London U.K.
Do you have to wet the stake at all as the plant grows? I was never sure about that.. Thanks for the great tutorial! It's a lot easier to do than I thought ~ Debbie in WA Ü
Thank you for the video. In the beginning you said it will take like 4/5 days to callus over. Are you saying I should take a cutting then wait for it to callus and then do this?

One of my local nurseries sells hoyas from the Plant Farm, they are beautiful healthy plants.. I highly recommend the Plant Farm if you are a hoya enthusiast.
We apologize for the delayed response. The name of the product used is Bonide Rooting Powder. It can be purchased in our retail store, The Plant Farm®, in Spokane Valley, WA, or online on our website at spokaneplantfarm.com.
I have a minibelle leaf that i stuck in soil and it has roots and all but it doesn't shoot, it has the node - but stays a leaf for almost 2 years, what am i doing wrong?
Remember these live in greenhouse conditions... mine didn’t root until I set up a greenhouse prop box if anyone knows what kind of Hoya this is please share ❤️
The Hoya on the table us a Hoya Carnosa Krimson Princess aka Tricolor aka Rubra. Very common hoya but one of my favorites for sure. Most of the single node cuttings he is planting in the video are reverted. The Plant farm is a wonderful place to buy plants from. I have bought a few online.
The Hoya used in the video is a Crimson Princess. The more humidity and the more light you have after planting your cuttings, often times the faster your Hoya will root.
We would suggest using a cactus/succulent potting mix. If you don’t have that available, you can also mix 50% all purpose potting mix and 50% perlite (by volume) to make a better draining soil.
