After a short break, the story continues. Time to open a new chapter. The band's new line-up now consists of five musicians - for the first time, two guitarists provide a much more massive sound and more complex yet catchy arrangements. But probably the most striking change is the new front woman Sarah. After two successful albums and many years of close friendship, Ulli Perhonen handed over the microphone to singer Sarah in autumn 2023. With Sarah, Snow White Blood have a new face and a voice that brings a huge spectrum of timbres and vocal ranges. Let's look forward to this new chapter with Snow White Blood.

I just found out about your band a week ago and literally fell in love with your sound and vocalist. It's a shame that Ulli will no longer be around. Her vocal range is amazing. I will not stop loving you for the change of vocalist. She's just as gorgeous.
does this song sound as blatantly as a lovesong (despite the um... peculiar stuff that would imply) as i think or am i just slowly going insane? oh well... it sounds neat either way.
Nachdem ich erst 2023 "Snow white blood" für mich entdeckt hatte, dann gleich die Botschaft der Bandauflösung verkraften musste, finde ich es umso besser, dass es jetzt doch weitergeht :-) Die Kritik an Sarah teile ich nicht. Eine Erwartung, dass bei Wechsel einer Sängerin alles exakt so klingt wie vorher, ist wohl unerfüllbar. Jede Stimme ist anders und jeder bringt seinen eigenen Stil ein. Ein neues Stilelement das ich an Sarah mag, sind die aus dem Gaumen "herausgerotzen" kraftvollen Töne (02:06"), die auch in "The Loss of Innocence" schon auftauchten. Ich durfte die Band Anfang Februar live erleben, da hat Sarah auch das wahrlich nicht einfach zu singende Sheherazade gemeistert... (leider war der ganze Abend in einer Lautstärke, die nahe an der Körperverletzung lag, so dass ich es nicht wirklich genießen konnte). Nevermore finde ich durchaus gelungen, schnell, bombastisch arrangiert, Tempo wird auch mal variiert und im Klangteppich sind auch immer diverse Variationen enthalten. Auch die Drums sind variantenreich und Sarah kann sich durchaus gegen die E-Gitarren behaupten. Kommt für mich zwar nicht an das geniale "Rising of the sun" heran, kommt aber auf die Playlist :-) Ob mit der neuen etwas gitarrenlastigen Besetzung auch Balladen funktionieren, muss sich noch zeigen...

Im glad snow white blood is still together, will forever miss Ulli. I had a hard time catching what was being said even with the lyric sheet but its actually pretty cool. Im eager to hear more ❤
great singer, good guitar sound, awful keyboards - you have a lot of potential, guys, please fire the keyboardist and hire an orchestra or someone who can play an orchestral instrument, or if you can't afford it, just do with the guitars and bass

It's a very standard Gothic/Symphonic Metal number, but very well done. The production, arrangements, musicianship and particularly the vocals make it a great listening experience, but it hasn't got enough about it to make it memorable. My Score: Good 3*
For those knocking this band because of the new line up, possibly new style, I forget the other female singer's name, however, technically, she was kind of a band slut & jumped around to a bunch of different bands before moving on to yet another; - most are on RU-vid & csn be easily found. She has a following, so, it seemed whatever band she entered became popular because of the fact she was there. ( Think of the transition when Floor Joined NightWish which originally was just supposed to be a "favor" to the band) I don't know Susan's background, but she seems more than capable of hitting the type of notes the other woman never did, so, to me, she's up there in the ranks of someone like Floor & a few others. The main problem was once the band got good, the other singer high tailed it into some other project & it was rinse, lather, repeat for this kind of action & most of the past bands fell by the way side because of this, never to recover & go forward. I happen to really dig this song & now, understand some of the story behind it & it is a dark story at that. ( As a suggestion, look up the lyrics on Google, you'll see what I mean by a dark tale!) Anyway, I say let the band grow on you before automatically passing judgement!! PEACE!
Hi Chris :-) First of all! Thank you for your comment and for supporting us. This means a lot to us! Nevertheless we have to correct some things. Our former singer Ulli never behaved in the described way. In 2013 the early Snow White Blood was formed together with Ulli and the band developed to its actual standing in the course of the years. Ulli always was loyal and all the mentioned side-projects had been discussed in the band before having started. In 2023, the former line-up decided to split up - due to several reasons. The remaining band members decided after a short break, that Snow White Blood should go on. In a new way, a new style. With new members. All of these developments and incidents were realized in a friendly and peaceful way so that nobody should be harmed. From that start we are really glad to be the new Snow White Blood - having these fantastic new musicians Sarah and Marvin on board and we are really looking forward, what is up for us in the future. Yes Snow white blood. This song is good. "The Loss of Innocence", their other song with new singer is amazing. Saddly Ulli is gone, but I think the new Singer will bring new ponential to the band overall. We will see how it develops. Just saying its bad because singer is not good critic and not helpful at all.

I'm grateful that SWB is back, but I'm still trying to get used to the new sound. I miss the stories, the lyrics, the fabulous instrumentals, the perfect vocals of Ulli. Don't take me wrong, Sarah is ok, but her singing style can be found in too many bands. Ulli had that unique style and voice. Personally, I don't like soprano-like vocals mixed with that "power metal growl". I am really really happy that this band is still alive, but I hope I will get used to your new sound some day...
Well our concept still works with fairytales and the story behind it. 😉. The actual song is based on a fairytale of Hans Christian Andersen 👍. If you change the Lineup and a singer, there are always some changes. As there should be no comparison between the old and the new. But we are grateful if you followed us even with our new songs ❤️
