Hi Peter. Good video. I am trying to get a system up and running in a similar fashion but trying to use the HDMI ARC out of the TV and use an HDMI splitter with one outfit going to an ARC from HDMI device converting to RCA into the mixer and the other HDMI going into the AV Receiver monitor port. This should allow me to watch streaming TV and have that sound output to the speakers in TV Audio mode of the receiver and then then use the mixer setup on an AV input for karaoke. I wish to leverage RU-vid karaoke on the smart TV as my source for lyrics and music for karaoke. Any thoughts on this?

Your a life saver, happened to come across this after having the same issue and trying everything. Thanks so much for sharing I was about to go buy another reciever.
Hi Peter. I like your video that help a lot. I have a question about your mixer I want to buy one for karaoke. I would like to know your mixer has echo build in ? Because my friend said if the mixer without echo we can’t use for karaoke. So, can you tell me what’s kind the mixer are you using on the RU-vid? And I have another question receiver. Can I connect receiver and equalizer and mixer together? I hope to hear from you soon. Thank You.
Please , I have the optical from tv , red and white from optical connector , Where do I input the red and white on my mixer ? , Then which ports do I connect the red/whites from mixer to receiver , thank you
I reset my Yamaha receiver, but my subwoofer still doesn’t detect a connection. I need to unplug the RCA plug in order for it to work. SOMETIMES it works fine, but mostly I need re-plug the RCA. Either from the wall (subwoofer to receiver) or directly from the back of subwoofer. I bought a new subwoofer, too, assuming my 20-year old subwoofer was the problem. It was not. Any other suggestions? (My wifi is not connected through my receiver, I use my wifi through other sources, like my Xbox or DVR. Mostly my Xbox. )
Have you ever figured this out? I bought a used Yamaha receiver off FB marketplace its the RX-V671 and the sub output doesnt work either. The subwoofer is fine, it works. I tried it on another receiver it works fine. And on this new one i have the subwoofer ON in the settings and i have all the other speakers set to small like everyone says to do (even though you dont have to do this) and nothing..nothing works. i first thought it might be fried because its a used unit ya know, but so many other people seem to be having this issue.
