we need to remember the key factors of cardistry: art, video making, photography, visual, skill, community and so on... That's what makes cardistry cool to watch, if we only focus on "skill", then it happens that it gets boring, content is not fun anymore, I get there are some people who want to see something new, but we need to keep in mind that cardistry has to be fun and cool to watch, because that's what keeps it alive and attracts/inspire new people to join the community. old style, new style, old moves, new moves, it doesn't matter, It has to be cool and fun to watch, there has to be the right balance, that's what makes a good cardist and keeps the art alive. Personally, I don't enjoy new style cardistry that much because it looks too slow and not that attractive so I think there should be more focus on video making/editing to make it look cool, but still, I support everyone anyway, because again, community is a key factor. Besides, back in the days, cardistry gained a lot of popularity thanks to editors, there were a lot of really cool videos spreading all around the internet reaching millions of people(youtube in particular) and that built much interest, and I believe there's still much potential. Again, let's try to keep cardistry cool, fun and attractive to watch, and let's support everyone. Hope many people will get this comment.

Would it have worked with a thinner glass? Maybe crystal? Or with liquid in the glass? Or does the card edge have to strike the edge of the rim of the glass like an axe on wood?

I guess one of the reasons for cardistry's decline is the infrequency of new videos that inspire people to learn what cardistry is all about. Back when I got hooked on cardistry, which was earlier called flourishes or XCM, there was this one video called "Portable Playground." From the music to the moves to the jam, the video really made it feel like cardistry was a pretty fun thing to do. Nowadays, cardistry is more about how complex the cuts or moves you can do are. I mean, those who do cardistry will appreciate it, but an average layperson will find that this person is just doing some really hard cuts. Cardistry has to be appealing to the eyes. Some of the most famous cardistry moves are the Werm, Mockingbird, Jackson 5, and Pandora. All of these have one thing in common: they look very cool and fancy to do. Even Tobias does some fancy moves, but I guess his style is more towards complex moves. In order for people to be inspired by cardistry, people need to bring back that old 2005-2006 genre of people jamming and having fun.

I think the people that design these luxury playing cards don't know a thing about card quality or cardistry. I think you are just paying for the name and the wasteful packaging. But the last deck is really nice.

No way authentic JN 1970 decks decrease in price. What's the reason? Did the magician Dominique Duvivier flood the market with his massive haul?

6:52 Jaspas, aside from SoC v5, which is as soft as Rose, the Neon Nights deck (as well as the newer deck that followed) are printed on the BEST card stock youve ever used! Its a shame the luxury stock of the SoC v5 is long gone, but that card stock youve been using recently is the next best thing!

This is the first Ive heard of the 1970 JN decks going down in price. There are still planty of them listed for $500-800. Decemberboys was asking $800 just a cpl of years ago. I have two of these myself. One opened. One sealed. Also, agree with everyone who says the LV decks are crap. But then again, the Bee Wynn decks also dont perform well and they were still popular for some reason.

Dude for some reason, the Louie Vuitton cards were the first deck I thought of 😆 is it sad that I didn’t think of Jerry’s first? 😅 anyways. I’m really happy about how far you’ve come with TikTok. I think that is by far the one platform that has helped you accumulate the most followers and support. For a while I felt like you weren’t being appreciated enough here. And maybe it was the reason why you don’t really upload as much anymore. There were definitely some good times here. I truly miss those times bro. But I’m really happy you found another place where you made more connections. I’m super proud of you bro. And also, congrats to the winner of the giveaway, you’re extremely lucky..

Hey Jaspas, I just wanted to let you know that the Stud's Ancel is handling is more than likely printed in 2003. I'm not 100% sure because I couldn't clearly make out the USPCC dating code at the bottom of the ace of spades, but I think it's labeled E3126. Other factors I'm considering to date the deck are the lack of white borders on the front and sides of the tuck box. The first through sixth iterations of the Stud Playing Cards have white borders on the front and sides of the tuck box. The back design of the Studs in your video is a USPCC back design rather than an Arrco or Hoyle design which was utilized in the fourth and fifth iterations of the deck. The flap of the tuck box is short rather than long. Short flaps are utilized in the fourth through eighth iterations. The bottom of the tuck box has a upc code instead of the phrase "For Particular Players" seen in the first through third iterations. The structure of the tuck box is also noticeably different at the bottom. The first through third iterations of the tuck box folded and glued differently than the fourth through eighth iterations. The "R" in the word "CARDS" on the front of the tuck box is also printed less pronounced than the first through third iterations. And the message on the side of the tuck box has an address, which the first and second iterations did not. And instead of the Chicago address found on third iterations, the address is the Deerfield address which began to be utilized from the fourth iteration onwards. I couldn't tell from the video if there was a registered trademark on the tuck box, but that also would have been helpful information. Based on the data presented, the deck of Studs in your video is at the very least a seventh iteration of Stud Playing Cards printed sometime in between 1992 and 2006. And if I'm correct in regards to the USPCC dating code being E3126, the deck was printed in 2003. Anyways, I wouldn't classify the deck of Stud's handled in your video as vintage. Although that is a subjective proclamation. If you are anyone else is interested, a plethora of information concerning Stud Playing Cards is available at playingcardforum under the forum The Whole Story of Walgreens STUD (www.playingcardforum.com/index.php?topic=13807.0). An individual by the handle of "touya" spent and exorbitant amount of time scouring old news articles, hunting for decks, and collecting information and insight from other collectors. The earliest advertisement for Stud Playing Cards touya discovered was printed in 1937, found in St. Louis Post-Dispatch St. Louis, Missouri Thursday, April 15, 1937. And a moderator from the playingcardforum site that goes by the handle of "Chuqil '' acquired a deck of first iteration Studs printed in 1936 utilizing the dating code W2942. Happy hunting y'all
