Thanks for nothing, Rich! I had tickets to see this show 4th fucking row stage left and Page left town the day after this show because of your pompous ass. Everyone should read Steve's book. On a different tour, I was standing in line waiting to get into the show and Ed Harsh was walking the promenade. No one had a clue who he was. As he got closer to me, I said hey Ed as he was passing by and gave him a wink and got a wave and a wink in return.

Mark lee and paul what a trio Original guys. They deserve more ctedit than they received. Mark your voice is so magical and i loved the sunglasses. Shield you from stage which was so hard for you. Your last album mark hollis was who you were always.
This was one of the very few bands that could make it beyond the hateful divisive walls between Eastern and Western Europe. I was very impressed when I first listened to it back in 1980. I was living in Turkey at that time and a friend of mine brought a casette recorded in Greece.
This was just two weeks after Live Aid. Talk Talk did not appear that day but the lineup was very tight and many great bands did not make the cut. (Despite the movie, Queen were not the headline act. David Bowie, Elton John and Paul McCartney all appeared after. My personal favourite that day, which I watched live, was U2, with their 12 minute version of Bad. Legendary). Still, what a summer of music. So many great acts around then. Talk Talk are at least remembered by many now with lots of new fans. Can't say that for many of the 80s acts.
This was a perfect fit for Jimmy Page, The Black Crows played with the same energy and swagger as Page. It's the best the Zep songs had ever sounded live. There's always the temptation to play this song too fast, this is the perfect tempo. Jimmy's solo is his classic edgy adventure on the fretboard.
My god what a damn shame it is that Page can't keep a group of guys together that are proficient enough to keep making things work. Black Crowes did an outstanding job but I can understand how it could be a problem for a famous rock band to just basically stop what they're doing for the most part to support Page. I can see why they did it and I can also see why it had to fall apart eventually. They would have to discard their journey and just go with Page forever and there's no way that could work in the long term. Never mind that Chris and Rich want to kill each other which only made things worse.
