Hey guys, I've been a sewing instructor for a number of years and love sharing my sewing knowledge through practical application. I make video's of things I make for my shop and show you how to do it all the while sharing little tips and tricks for sewing, from french seams to tools of the trade to how to use those tools to the best of our ability to save time and money as we sew. I hope you enjoy my video's and if there's something you'd like to learn, please leave that in the comment section ;-)

I just bought the wallet pattern. First time ever buying an internet pattern/one not already printed. I’m sorry but I can’t figure out how to get the pattern. I bought it as a guest but now Etsy won’t give me the pattern without signing in with an email address that I didn’t get the pattern sent to, haven’t used in years, and can’t get into… even though it sent the link pdf to the email I bought with and use. Can you help me?

Excellent video, thank you for sharing. Why did you decide to use batting on your pads, seems like it adds an unnecessary amount of bulk. I think your pattern could be modified to work on any kind of dustmop!

Hello. I see this is an old video. However, it isn't clear what the cut sizes of your fabrics are. At the beginning, you say it's 13 x 13. Then when you are sewing the side seams, you mention there is a 15" side. Now, I'm wondering if all fabrics are cut 13 x 13 as you've only rotated the bottom seam upwards by 2 inches and mentioning a 15" side is a mistake? Also, do you find your wet bag leaks at the seams or zipper sections?

Etsy's fees are insane so I just started my own page and grew it from there. I took Paypal only got a long time and that worked but then I had to look into other forms of payment, such as Venmo, ect. If your customers know ahead of time what your payment methods are they tend to be ok with it.

If you stitch the edges it won’t fray until it’s cut. I zigzag stitch the edges. I’m currently making a backpack out of canvas now & it’s fraying a bit but not bad & it’s been cut for days now. It’s not enough to make the project undoable. Just slight fraying. I’m going to take pics of my in progress backpack so let me know if you want to see it. It was cheap Amazon canvas. This is my first time using canvas so I’m definitely not an experienced canvas user. But it’s no worse than cotton. Some cotton frays horribly once cut.

I just found you on YT today & I’m so glad I did. I love your channel. I also really appreciate how you show the mistakes etc & then leave them in with how to fix them. Also, I appreciate how you’re not always wearing makeup & have your nails professionally done. I’m wanting to start a business with my mom & know that I’ll probably have to do videos at some point. The problem is I don’t care to be in front of the camera & I know I’ll be nervous & possibly fumbling around. I’ve been watching YT for months now & noticed all the women are makeup perfect, nails nail salon perfect & often dressed like they’re going someplace special plus they edit out any mistakes. It’s intimidating for a woman to think they have to be the same way. Thank you for showing me that a normal mom can just be herself & be successful, even on camera. Honestly it’s meant more to me than you’ll ever know. I may sound silly to some but I’ve been really intimidated until today. I plan to start small way before I ever make a video but now I’m not so scared to do it & not as scared to start my business. I’m still trying to come up with a name that someone else doesn’t have. lol. So I’m brand brand new. Anyways I enjoy your videos & tutorials, I love your energy & love that in the midst of your city electric issue while pregnant found a way to start your business. Shame on the people who caused that issue & them not being immediately concerned about the financial strain they put on so many people. I could tell you care about others when you talked about the old lady on social security. You seem like a wonderful person. Sorry this comment is so long! 😊

I'm so glad you found me and that you enjoy the video's. I've been trying a little harder with the make up because I feel like I look so tired all of the time lol, I hate being on camera and I hate editing and having to look at myself but eventually you just have to get over yourself lol If you ever do start making video's, do not do what I did and make a video a week. That is a hard schedule to keep up and exhausting. If you watch a lot of peoples video's you should you'll see after a year of doing video's once a week they tend to go to every other week because it's exhausting. The electric was a mess and a learned experience, keep your receipts lol Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the reality check. Most of these style of tools that start like scissors lifting fabric take a lot of practice to get accurate cutting. I watched as it is smaller handle size while the larger ones seem too high for me as most tables are not low enough for short people then add high handled tools and you are stuffed. Appreciate the demonstration that shows it isn't instant success. One video I watched today compared electic scissors to rotary cutter and indeed she weighted down one side of her fabric and scissors gave a straighter cleaner edge. Both were lower end of price range and she stuck to same cost for both to be fair. I was suprised to see scissors smoother than rotary blade but rotatry blade not circular so again practice may have given better cut with rotary one. Good luck to all of you. I do batch cutting for simple bags for charity and like you it is impacting on my arm, I have learned to cut left handed to give other one a rest. It may well be the more costly ones will pay dividends in long run especially if able to use with ruler to cut down on practice time ;) Thanks again
