No size limit as such mate but there are some restrictions Copy and pasted from vfa website: Lakes and impoundments No minimum size limit. 5 salmonids per day. No closed season. Some lakes have different regulations so always check this webpage before heading to a new spot vfa.vic.gov.au/recreational-fishing/recreational-fishing-guide/trout-and-salmon-regulations
Always find these types of vids funny sometimes, the fisherman catching the best meat and nutrients on the planet, releasing them and eating shitty carbs for lunch and a fkn coke to top it off 😄
Some fish for food, some fish for sport, if we all fished for food there would not be enough to go around. eg. you are not allowed to fish for Snapper in SA gulfs and have not been able to for years. If only we liked carp 🤣
@@soobz if people stick to only taking what they need it is fine, the whole population is not going to start turning up at your lake. My point was also about diet though, take it from someone who has had health issues 20+ years, get 100g+ of good clean protein a day, especially from a source like these fish and cut out the crap, then come thank me in 12-24 months, fish like these are A grade premium nutrition.
Hey Pete, I couldn’t agree more with that statement! The only reason I released the trout in this video was because I was fishing all day and had no way to keep them fresh as I had packed light to stay mobile. I ended keeping 3 trout in the evening so I could keep them as fresh as possible!
As far as I know mate you are allowed to fish the river but definitely not all areas of it. We did not go past any no fishing signs in this video though they are definitely present in some areas of the river.
mate i still think about the day i seen u catch these magnificent fish, it was the best day of work ever. am yet to see a bigger brook trout from that area
Hatchery fish should have never been released in the G. They have their own water up there, the Eildon Pondage. Vic Fisheries no longer recognizes wild trout fisheries and Anglers who have fished all their lives and only want to catch wild ! fish. Please kill these hatchery fish then place in a bin or leave them on the bank. Why did Vic Fisheries - Snobs Creek Hatchery do this ? purely for money. The tourist dollar - economy in Eildon is going to suffer soon as lake Eildon will be bone dry in a year or two .
