Hi there fellow cyclist's, that was quite a great ride, wished i had someone with me when i ride.I'm doing lots off miles on the bike by myself for almost a year now, best sport ever.
Fair play doing this on drop bar bikes without suspension, very impressive and enjoyed this video - for me for this route my weapon of choice will be a hard tail MTB, possibly my Specialised Chisel or looking at some of the chunk on the route maybe my steel Sonder Signal, having visited the area recently this is massively hilly with some vicious climbs so might drop the front chainring down to a 30 tooth. Ride safe😊
That reminds me of the couple of times I did the South Downs 80 mile trail run in the 1990s. That started at the Queen Elizabeth country park just outside Petersfield and finished at Eastbourne Rugby club. I've now had to switch from running to cycling - which is a hell of a lot easier !
Another lovely video. Brings back happy memories as I really enjoyed cycling the Cantii Way last year. I was camping and there are convenient campsites all the way along.
That looked neat...are they organising it for next year?.Done London to Brighton off road earlier this year...looks like I found another thing to complete for my bucket list
Sorry for the late reply! It's been a busy end of the year :D Yes, absolutely. There's nothing too technical but I would use a tyre with some thread to have a bit more grip in the loose gravel in some fast sections to avoid accidents. If you can fit 32c semi-slick that'd be my suggestion
Enhorabuena 🎉! 🚴🏻♂️🚴♀️‼️
Hey 👋 thanks for watching. I'd suggest contacting the organiser to leave the bike bags with them, and probably either do beach short or the new long one as you get to see the best locations. Lake is also cool but not comparable.
A good video, it looks like you didn’t; pop your head through the woods at holkham to see the beach. That is absolutely worth it, the sheer size of it is incredible.
Brings back lovely memories. I tried it in October and started in Norwich but pulled a muscle in my back and had to stop at Thetford. I'll be back when it warms up. Why do you recommend anti-clockwise?
Hey David, it's a lovely route indeed. I feel that leaving Thetford and King's Lynn last is nicer so you end with an high. There are more inhabited areas at the beginning, so you can stock up on food and leave the last day for Thetford and Diss. I would avoid Diss to Norwich as not that interesting. The wind is also a big part in the choice of either clockwise or anti-clockwise direction. One thing to note is that the few climbs are going to happen later in the trip if you go anti-clockwise.
@@TheBikeChallengethe diss to Norwich route is a rubbish route. I live on that part, and there’s better roads off the main route that are less busy, and much prettier.
I rode it on a hardtail mtb early spring 22, on my own in 3 days. I wouldn't have fancied a loaded gravel bike in some of the rougher technical parts. Thanks for the memories 😎
would love to have a go at that race except for queueing to get into single track with 800+ riders, that puts me off the idea. great video looked like a fun day
Thanks for checking this race out. I highly recommend participating at least once. It's a unique experience especially here in UK. Watch out for Belgian riders going twice your speed 🤣
Thanks for watching, what an insane and tough experience. It was dream-like to ride across those beautiful valleys and pristine white gravel roads. We will be back next year for sure, with a bike more fit for purpose and more training in the legs 💪

Great footage and soundtrack, looks awesome! I think this would be taken to the next level with a little bit of voiceover, even if just at the start to talk about what's coming up / some general thoughts on the ride. Look forward to seeing more!
