Doing my first oil change today. I'm at 20 hours. Also swapping out the rear coil. Got a softer one from Racetech as I ride more gnarly single track and hard enduro. I know the Stark isn't really built for that as it's on the heavy side compared to my gas bikes, but I still love to play in that stuff.
Love the content. Just got my 24 80HP model 3 weeks ago. Already have 20 hours on it. Mostly fast single track. I went the other way with the sprocket. Got a 15 tooth in front. Control the monster torque this thing has. Also the fork springs from KTM fit. I have already been playing with the shim stack. Waiting on a new softer shock spring. Bike came in as 205lb and was too stiff for me. I'm 195 ready to ride for enduro.
@@emanuelsilvapt 2017+ KTM big bike sprockets fit. If it won't fit you may have got a 65/85 size. Also 13T is about as small as you should go up front with how much torque this bike makes.
@@913outdoors yes, that’s what I got… maybe it just need a clean because side by side they are identical. I am looking for more power with lower hp (like 25hp) for hard/extreme enduro very slow and technical stuff and I thought it could help
@@VeecqruntthVeecqderschnellbein The new 10spd is a lot different. They 1st tried replacing the valve body which is now just a plate of solonoids and wire harnesses. That lasted about 50 miles.
This was a brand new car (under warranty). It had 3 transmissions replaced before the 1st oil change. I got rid of it. Ford advised the dealer to replace transmissions. Each one they put in lasted only a few hundred miles. Most troublesome vehicle i've ever owned! I had a 2017 Raptor 27k miles zero issues. The 2019 i got rid of with less that 3000 miles on it. Was always in the shop and had me driving an Ecosport loaner more than my new truck.
Don't see any issue with changing sprocket and the clearence. You pretty much on every bike today, want to place the rear wheel further back. Just buy a new chain if you go down a size or two in the rear. How ever, it sucks if you can't fit a broader chain. That's a real flaw!
@@wayno23 I do mine every 4-5 hours. I like it to come out looking pretty clean. At 10 hours your oil is fine but definitely contaminated with clutch friction material so typically would look black by then. These bikes only take 2 quart so its cheap insurance to just change it often. My thinking is that clutch friction material can't be good for your cylinder, cams, bearings, etc.
just had my stark got overheated. Got a warning and the bike just froze. Only 19 hours in. What can this be? Can’t get the bike turned on again. Won’t show the battery level.
Great video , it's time to order one but I'm on the fence about the hand brake or foot brake. I still race enduro and Moto in A 50+ class so that's 50 years riding for me using the foot for a rear brake, which way should i go ??
I've ridden with a foot brake for 35 years so I got the foot brake. I also have a lot of gas bikes still so don't want to get used to pulling the left lever to brake! If you are used to the foot brake I suggest sticking with it. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks as they say!
Did you happen to change oil again, i just did my first service same exact oil quality milky but not like cooling leak I’ve seen before. Curious if 2nd oil change was cleaner
@@travel_moto_build5889 I did a 2nd change just to see and it was not like that. Didn't seem to need it either. The gear oil was clean and looked about the same as when I put it in. I'll do 30-40 hours on it next time.

Have you contacted Stark and asked rheir technical team? That would be the proper answer. Then we would jnow if they put a special oil in the bike for first fill?
@@dukedynasty They want you to buy all parts from them directly. You can order any part on the bike, from the bike! Its right in the app. Pretty cool stuff.
Depends on use really. If you let it go longer then you have quite a bit of friction material from the clutch in your oil. The oil itself would probably be fine at 100 hours but super contaminated. Cheap and fast insurance to just keep fresh oil in the bike. Way easier than doing top ends prematurely. I do mine every 3rd tank of gas. Which is about 4-5 hours for me.
Great video but that’s crazy using power tools on an oil change especially a dirt bike with weak aluminum. 30 plus years in mechanics and electrical metal fabrication I’d never in my life recommend power tools to tighten something like this.
These tools have a low power setting that only torques to 3-5 lb/ft. As long as you feel the thread start and light touch to start threading its a huge time saver and does no damage. Come back through with a torque wrench as needed. To me I have more feel and control than using a T handle or socket wrench. If you barely touch the trigger you can run a bolt extremely slow and know instantly if its cross threading. Its been over 20 years since i've stripped or broken a bolt. Definitely impossible to get that feel with air tools. I'm using a Milwaukee Fuel M12 3/8 impact gun. Try one out on something you don't care about to test and you will see what I mean. They are amazing how much feedback and control they have.
@@913outdoors I have tons of power tools impact guns I have switched from using air tools. Yes I use them all the time taking bolts off but Almost never use them threading on always use your hands to thread it in first. You do understand how an impact works? It’s hammering down on the threads. Especially dirt bike engine casings are very weak cast aluminum. I dunno your bikes you do what you want your video was very good and informative also I just won’t use impacts on my dirt bikes. Besides on the wheels.
when you buy a bike you have the books of the bike or car or what ever. ( STARK VARG DONT GIVE ALL THE SPECS). they always stick on there's lying from the 80HP. when i go on the site i chat with a kind of stupid human. Who flush me right when i ask a Q. for the motor specs. He or She right 80hp and QUIT. (is there anybody in there! ) HEY! CHOW!
hi! the manufacturer never give the specs of the bike! Do you have the specs, motor specs for exemple; if you really have 80HP/hrs🤣🙂 it's = to 60 000watts/hrs. WELL with a Battery from 6000watts you understand you ride arround 12min. IN the best conditiion for the motor with free shaft, your weight, bike weight etc, etc, etc. drop the autonomy a lot rest maybe 2-3-4 min. BUT I'm sure it's very cool to ride but the real power of the motor is arround 8000watts/hrs or if you prefer in HP it's (( 10.2HP )).HAVE FUN! check sig.plate on the motor.real power it's the continuous power. ohm's law(MATH) can help you a lot to understand how that work's.
1.1 liters is the capacity on your bike. If you change it every 5-10 hours, use 1 liter exactly. If you go longer than that use 1.1 as those bikes burn off a little bit of oil typically.
Never ever use any power tool to start a thread unless you don’t care about cross threaded and ruining your bike. Always thread by hand then you can use whatever you want after.
Definitely always make sure the threads catch before cranking. The 3/8 impact on the low setting won't break a bolt but if not starting at slow speed to feel it out or turn the first 1/2 turn by hand to be sure threads catch is important.
You did not mention anything on the weight? With real tubes and Dunlop tires it will be close to 270lbs Are you able to hip the bike up on the tall Stark stand ?
On setting 1 the most it puts down is 8lb/ft. And that's if you really crank on it. Just zipping bolts on I measure 5-6lb/ft and that's the spec. Trust me I get it! Lol. But these new Milwaukee tools are really accurate and make service work a breeze.
I believe he’s trying to say it’s REALLY easy to cross thread using an impact while installing. Thread by hand always then you can use whatever you want
Yes always either super light/slow spin them to start or turn by hand slightly to make sure threads catch. I've been working on bikes for over 30 years and have never stripped a thread. Just have to be careful.
@@913outdoors Hey did you run into throttle cut off issues? I was mid ride and my varg just shut off. Had to pull over on the side and turn the bike on again.
The fork tubes on the stark have 3 lines at the top. That means the tubes themselves are way stiffer. Also they put 335cc in each which is waay more than Yamaha’s 270cc
I'm wanting a dualsport version, people are already talking about racing these motorcycles. I feel it's definitely the future, (quiet) (fast) (durable). I like riding wheelies as the neighbors don't complain anymore 😊
Hey man what year make and model ktm rear sprocket can I use on my stark varg? I know you said ktm I'm just not sure what year rear sprockets are the same on ktms
Only ridden in the dirt on MX tracks and woods. Probably have not gone faster than 40ish with the short jumpy stuff we have here. Its crazy fast though. A lot stronger than a 450.
