I was upgraded from a dual chamber icd had a lead replaced and one added being upgraded to a bi ventricular 3 lead unit... there's nothing to be afraid of other than feeling sore for a few days and a few weeks of reduced range of motion... I almost have full range of motion back... I was told it takes roughly 3 to 6 months to see the effects on my left bundle branch block... im class IV DCM... 10.5% EF
From a mild climate in europe I went for 2 weeks to Las vegas in the summer with temp. above 40 C degrees (115 F) outside. Yes , using AC of buildings and car (bad performing) as much as possible..but still getting hit by the high temps. My ICD sensor went through the optivol threshold. And the alarm kept ringing everyday for the next 2 weeks...even when well back in europe. .. So...I learn here that it meant that my LUNGS filled with WATER all this time ???? huh ?
What happens if this is implanted on the right side of the body? Does the whole thing have to be flipped over for the proper lead insertion and path to the heart? If it's flipped then it seems the entire curve design is useless.
