GS Mossa was founded just before the pandemic swept the globe in 2020 and we have around 40 members. Based on the Hampshire/Surrey border in the UK, we compete and train across the south of England.
Whether it's smashing the XC trails, sending it on the big rigs, breaking away from the bunch (attempting to) in road races or going to the hurt locker in training, this is where you'll get to know our members and the lives of amateur cyclists who live and breathe the sport of cycling.
Great video. Shame this year's didnt go to plan. As a 4th Cat, I agree with the comment about approach with caution. It's full gas from the start and very fast.

Thank you for some "real person" footage of the race, most of the content I see is pro's and its hard to get a feel for the course. Not sure why the guy was so made at the Jeep. As someone who rides MTB and a Jeep, I'm happy to share the trail either way. Looking forward to Breck Epic '24!
Hey Dennis! Thanks for the feedback. I’m pleased that the POV I could provide helped give a valuable perspective. It’s an epic race and one of the hardest things I’ve done. But the pleasure/pain is why we do it and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The climb we were on when the Jeep came through was one of the most brutal. Choosing your line was critical to keeping momentum and moving forward. The driver was up our ass. Sure, he wasn’t being intentionally aggressive but just him dabbing the throttle to move forward felt like a sucker punch. The guy overreacted but I get why. When you’re nudging HR max, tired and hyper focused, small things can become unmanageable and that’s all I think this was. I actually edited out quite a bit more of this as I didn’t think it was a fair reflection on my fellow rider. Good luck for the race man!
Not really. Gravel bike has no suspension links so no bearings to be blasting. Plus, people who ride this race know about bikes. They're not so 'dumb' that they spray into BB, wheel hubs or headsets. It's spraying the muck off the frame and tyres. Making a blanket statement that a high pressure washer is dumb is.... errr, dumb.
Same reason you want to learn guitar and French. Everyone should have a passion and there 1000+ people who like to race in tough conditions. Millions more round the world. Not weird at all.

Great vid shame the camera doesn’t do it the full justice but lovely to watch that wind was savage so pleased I used the Mtb it really made it fun and all completely rideable
I think you really had to feel and hear the wind in person to appreciate the full force of it. Hopefully the video helped explain what the riders went through. Using words doesn't cut it sometimes... Thanks for watching and kudos for getting it done (and on MTB)
You’re not wrong, Alex. Headwind on the beach for lap two was a pure grind. Getting dropped out of a group was devastating! Slower riding and more watts 😭
@gsmossa I have three buckles in four attempts in the last 5 years. This year was not my year. I broke a bone in my hand on day 1. I rode four stages with a busted hand and my front suspension was not working properly from day 2 on. 🤪 I had to pull the plug. Next year for sure! How about yourself? Coming back again?
@@ericthered.147 I’d love to come back again but next year is a bit short notice. It’s a big trip (and expensive coming from UK) so with a young family, I need to make it work for everyone. I will be back one day though! Beautiful place and a truly remarkable race. Great job on all your buckles and especially for soldiering on with a broken hand and dodgy bike! Can’t win em all… 👊🏼
Thanks for the feedback! It was truly an extraordinary stage. I cut out lots of choice words of frustration! You have to ride it to believe it. Imagine if it was wet…. Carnage!

It was always going to be quite a raw edit. I usually like to add more b-roll but with intensity of the ride, spending time with my buddies and not spending too much time on 6 edits, POV and selfie mode was the only way… glad you appreciated it! I rode Downieville last year but not the classic. Think I took in most/all the DH section. Amazing part of the world! Looking forward to a good Mossa showing this year at the Gorrick but 4 of us are away for the final stage, sadly. We are at the Club La Santa 4 day stage race in Lanzarote.
