Shanks had mercy too. He didn't even land a direct strike on Kidd and it messed him up this bad. 😂 Regardless if Kidd did survive this or not: Kidd would 100% be a goner had Shanks actually landed a direct hit on him.

Shanks is bad,manipulative, and has tainted blood in his veins. Once he shows his true colors later on, it’s gonna break the internet and it’s gonna be the biggest twist in the history of anime considering how many people love him and how it would break Luffy. Shanks being bad,evil and manipulative are headcanon of fans and fans don't write one piece. They assumed it from one scene of shanks meeting the elders.

Then Luffy later on eats that devil fruit that Shanks stole and brought with him in front of a kid and then he acts all surprised that Luffy ate it. Secondly, do you honestly think a man of such caliber would not be able to defeat a sea monster without breaking a sweat let alone losing his arm? In my opinion he intentionally lost his arm to gain Luffy’s absolute trust and love for when the time comes. After all that he meets the five elders like he didn’t just stole a fruit that they have been going after for so long. In my opinion i think Shanks and the five elders are planning on attacking either his father or Imu and that’s how he knew about the true abilities of the gum gum fruit and what it can give its user. Shanks doesn’t love Luffy the same Luffy loves Shanks. Luffy is basically a pawn is Shanks’ plot. At least that’s my opinion. Everything about Shanks is off to me.
