Laissez les oiseaux tranquilles. Mais ne pas oublier, l'eau l'été et l'hiver pour la nourriture. A force de les toucher ils ne se méfient plus des humains et cela est grave pour leur survie.
I believe that Black bird is a female, ie, dappled brown whereas the male is all black with a yellow ring around the eye. Great that you had her on your hand...,
I think its a young blackbird. I think they can be rather naive when they are young since Ive seen a few when I walked by really closely and they just watched me, stunned by fear I think. Blackbirds live among humans, often in their gardens and not high off the ground. This makes the younglings often victim to cats. Blackbirds like to live around us and are sort of smart enough to identify people, which means you can get close to them and they wont mind, which is great because their singing is so beautifull.
Never attempt to throw a bird into the air (a mistake so many people make) because if it is slightly stunned or injured or simply not ready, it can cause it more distress and / or injury. Place it on a branch or fence instead and be honoured that it chose you for your calm. Tossing it away isn't very friendly or calm.
I had a juvenile female Blackbird in my garden this year it was very confident & tame, it would often come right up to me when i went outside & i had no idea why.
I haven't got a blackbird to land on my hand yet, I can get my hand close but she just hasn't plucked up the courage yet, will just sit and look at me until I drop some on the floor or I call them down. If I forget to give them a treat they will get my attention outside the window. Though sometimes when I open the door they will hop back and forth on the trellis to tell me that a cat or a squirrel is around. We have three females and two males, the others have gone away for the winter, one female much braver than the other adults who was born in April, but they are much more wary of one another than of me standing there, one will even come over closer to me, if the other female is picking on her. The 3 sets of Blackbirds have had 6 or 7 broods this year, but only one stayed around the offspring of a very tame blackbird who was around for 3 years, so she seems to have picked up his tameness, I like to think maybe the others are bringing someone else some joy by visiting them.
Sparrows and Finch's are easy to tame, and wood pigeons even easier. But Thrush's and Blackbirds are very difficult. This is insane. Must be indoor caged
Years ago in upstate New York, a one legged cowbird landed on our picnic table while we were eating and was not afraid of us at all. It walked around looking at us as if to ask to join us.
I used to have a bird i took care of since it was a baby when he grew up and could fly he used to come back every day until he stops i hope nothing happened to him and i hope he had a beautiful life❤
My take on this, its a jouvenile blackbird, it's likely crashed into one of your windows and you came across it whilst it was still stunned, I've had this happen at my house , but not with blackbirds. I had a bird complete knocked unconcious on the garden, I heard the bump against the window and found it laying on it's back on the garden. I put a large box over it so that it was safe from predators and completely left it alone for 10 minutes. When I returned I carefully raised one corner of the box and found it was stood up. I left it under the box for another 5 minutes and returned and removed the box completely and was sat on the floor next to it for a few minutes until it gathered it's senses ebough to fly up to a nearby tree. If this happens with larger birds such as pigeons they leave a smudge on the window from the impact. Glad it flew away okay, but it was probably woozy and confused for hours afterwards, well anyway with humans you don't just "come around" to normality after a KO, even when awake again it takes some time to process things properly and reach normality.
What species of bird is this? I have many in my back garden and one of them always comes to sit with me. I'm trying to tame it but I don't know what species it is.
looks like a juvenile they think everyone's there dad and mum as the guy said its probably tamed a while ago really cool(or it hasn't learned to fear humans yet)
There are videos telling you how to make them do this. I have had hundreds of sparrows and blue tits land on my hand and shoulders over the years. The one in the photo is called Arrow and was totally tame and very nice to have as a friend for 4 years... The videos on RU-vid are very good on this subject, maybe you can give them a look. Good luck with that ☺️.
