This episode more than any other illustrates how insufferable it must be being around Gervais. It's also clear, based on his glee in recounting, that Rick has been a sociopath since early childhood.

48:50 That story reminds me of something similar I apparently did when I was 5 or 6, my mum told me how one day when she went to pick me up from school, my teacher beckoned her over with an angry expression on her face and told her "your son has been calling everybody in class a tw*t." It just conjures images in my head of me walking around the class like we're playing duck duck goose but I'm going around everyone saying "you're a tw*t, you're a tw*t, you're a tw*t..." 😂 Pretty sure I picked that word up from my dad
im trying to find anyone in the comments who already knows this; but the porkchop-stuck-to-the-buttock thing is in fact very real. you can look it up, the lady sat on it for so long it literally fused into her skin. sometimes karl is right, mad world innit?
Any fans of OSW; Karl's thoughts on going where the hairdresser gets his hair done reminds me of them questioning Brutus Beefcake, "Who cuts the barber's hair?"
23/24 years later and we are still listening to it, How wrong Dr. Fox was ... those shows that won the sony awards are long forgotten and no one listens to them ... this however lives on!!
I listened to this show as it came out. XFM was such a great station. Christian O'connor on the breakfast show and this or J.L.C on Saturdays. It didn't hurt that the indi music scene was great too.
1:23:46 the ski drug taking segment is so annoying. Karl is such an idiot and it's on full display here. Can't comprehend the concept of PEDs and thinks that athletes drug taking is just them round the back of the shops passing around a joint or railing lines of bugle off the back of their mate's phone case.
I’ve listened to these a million times, but the whole Empire State Building ice cube glass of Jack Daniel’s analogy still shocks me with its stupidity every time 😂😂
I *love* when Karl does his film pieces and when he makes mention to something Ricky is connected with, his laugh faintly breaks through. Gets me every time.
