Can I ask why on the second ring slot everyone use frost specialization not arcane? If we’re using balefire bolt shouldn’t we use fire/arcane for ring?
@@jawlty yes but isn’t fire arcane more important for hit rating than frost fire? If we use frost and fire for rings aren’t we under hit cap when we cast balefire?
@@user-ct4vp5tr5m don't think so. I think balefire benefits from the highest hit u have. So doesn't matter if arcane, fire or frost. But it matters for frostfirebolt.
You should change briarwood reed for the dire maul trinket, it gives the same spell power but with 10 fire res as well. I feel like most mages are sleeping on this because they don't realise that they updated the trinket in sod so it's no longer just mp5
It gives arcane spell damage, not straight spell damage. Useless for a fire mage. Sure the 10 FR is nice but 29 arcane damage is useless. A lot of other fire res items you can min max around better. No one is sleeping on it xD
I still can't wrap my head around how dog shit the design of balefire bolt is and how it's being shoved down our throats. The rotation shouldn't be the exact same for both frost and fire specs, it's absolutely insane to me.
Hey man, thanks for the video! I just checked out your Weakaura as well and it's awesome. For someone who is new to WoW (believe it or not), are you basically casting regen only at the start, tagging mobs with Living Bomb, and then casting living flame once they are grouped? I obviously have no world buffs and crap gear (mostly because I don't really know how to farm gold), but I find that I'm really taking a ton of damage. If you recast living bomb on an enemy that already has it, it's not going to explode twice right? So It's a DPS loss? Just trying to pick up some tips cause I'm really enjoying the game but I want to improve and juice up, currently level 20 getting bopped by gnolls in Redridge. Thanks
Yes to your living bomb question. Keep 1 on each mob if possible and reapplying before each goes off is a dps loss. As for his regen strat he is casting it at the beginning of each pull and using arcane explosion to heal himself a little. Cone of Cold is used to keep them away from him too. I would recommend using your iceblock after casting living flame so you can get more damage off with it.
As a Mage you should Detect Magic any boss with tricky abilities like this. Also your weak aura covers up the area of the screen that would show the boss’s reflect is up.
Yeah, i ate a fat 8-stack + pyro-proc to the face yesterday... very fun. Warri-Tanks supposedly can purge with Shield Slam, will hold my casts on next lockout and only full blast during the 23s cooldown he supposedly has on the reflect. Only scorch when the reflect shield can come up.
