I sort of feel like according to the manipulation matrix, that the daughter is not a Facilitator but a Peddler. I'm not saying that Facilitators don't need to also engage in usability studies, and empathy interviews to learn about potential users, but when you are speaking about a product from the perspective of a Facilitator, she naturally looks for identification as a fellow user. I think that Peddlers are much more likely to preach than empathize.
