People are really missing the point with this video. These techniques are so basic and fundamental that they transcend style. He's not saying that the MMA fighters have trained in Choy Lay Fut. He's saying the the wide swings have application and you can see it often in MMA. It's a no-brainer.
I trained under Sifu Lacey, dedicating myself five days a week to his teachings of both arts. Then, as life took its course, I lost contact with him for many years. Out of the blue, the thought struck me-I should visit him. I expected a regular training day. When I arrived, the parking lot was packed with cars, and I recognized many familiar faces-former students, just like me. Confused, I wondered what could be happening. That’s when I learned the truth: it was his memorial service. It felt like a summons from the spirits (鬼神的召喚).
Hello teacher please help me I want to learn Chinese Wik Chun I am from Kurdistan please I want to come to you to learn Wik Chun do not deprive me of learning very very very very dear 😔💔
Choy Lay Fut KungFu is what I study it’s Deff an effective style no question only thing poss different about the school I go to learn Choy. Lay Fut is we mix Kickboxing with it idk if any other Choy Lay Fut school mixes Kickboxing with it but never the less a good style to learn where a block and be a strike and a strike can be used as a block
yea sure. it;s a haymaker to you in the year 2023. To the style of Choy Lee Fut, haymakers are the swinging of elephants trunks. so, the fact that you may know it in modern times as a haymaker doesn't change the FACT that in CLF it's NOT what WE call them.
Luckily I had the good fortune to train under Sifu Lacey. Vince and Shane are two of the best in Buk Sing Choy Lay Fut! Vince also did Wing Chun, as a secondary style. One of the things that I appreciated about Vince was that he was open minded and realized there were many different ways of achieving ones goals in life as well as in martial arts.
It's funny how SO MANY arm chair enthusiasts CLAIM that our big WIDE SWINGING HAYMAKERS are so EASY to defend against. But the same move seen working in MMA tends to prove that theory wrong.
The same with some karate techniches, stuff is ultra eficient, but because 99% of these guys never actual spar it is never done in real life. Serious try this at a muay thai sparring, it works!
Your comment is one of the dumbest comments and very uninformed one as well. MY choy lee fut school ALWAYS spars and against other styles. here is MY guy in his very FIRST TIME fighting Muay Thai and was so close to winning his very first time against muay thai which proves your comment INCORRECT ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Vp4VC-xWbE.html
Ciao Giovanni complimenti sei riuscito a creare qualcosa di mitico , ricordo quando iniziasti davvero spettacolare hai raggiunto un obbiettivo molto grande ........
What you fail to realize is he is saying what you see in MMA and the UFC, already exists in the Choy Lee Fut system and that not all kung fu is for pansies. no one ever said Cung Le did anything of the sort.
