I absolutely appreciate you adding segments on 'why' it exists and 'how' it was defined. The nerd in me is satisfied. But more importantly knowing the history of this fields helps me take decisions on how to implement it. In my entire college education, I did not come across such a comprehensive explanation of design and research. Your channel is amazing!
Hi. I come from an arts and media theory academic background and i've been obsessed with your channel for the last couple of weeks. You have really help me understand what I'm doing and where I do want to take this knowledge. I would strongly encourage you to speak to Arthur Jafa in one of your podcasts, it would be brilliant
Thank you! We had migrated to a different dedicated channel for the podcast, but it has not worked as well as having everything in one place in this main channel
When you turn your attention to been very formal about research, you turn your attention away from design...research is to strategy while design is to execution in a way. good research for design is efficient and one way to go about that is to visualize your research away from words. @Design Disciplin
I have been "Googling" nonstop over the past month for an organized list/index of different design styles. I've just come across this video and am so excited to dig in--thank you!!!
Another perspective coming from an industrial design agency owner: The physical good being produced definitely can play a role in limiting mobility. That said, there are MANY verticals in ID that allow for designers to travel wherever while designing physical things. For instance, a significant portion of our workload comes in the form of exhibit and retail design. I've worked remotely all over the world while working on these projects from hotel lobbies, coffee shops, etc. Things that require shop visits, material samples, etc can absolutely put the brakes on travel plans, for sure -- but there are great exceptions to this. Really appreciate this video!
Hello, It's my first time to get to know HCI and HCI will be my research area in master degree in computer science, i'm really nervous about that, can you give me advice first work do i need to do as a master student research in this area?
It's very tough to give advice in RU-vid comments, since so much is specific to your personality and context... But we're working on a new Advisory Service for your questions like this. Subscribe to our newsletter on our website, and we'll let you know when it launches!
Your video is very insightful, especially for something that's not really talked about. I am at a crossroad, where I'm wondering if I want to pursue industrial design or industrial design research, but I don't know which to do. Any advise please?
Such a difficult question to handle over RU-vid comments =) We're working to re-launch our consulting service, please keep an eye on our website, happy to help you through there!
Thank you for sharing such great information, I can agree with your point’s, the digital world is massive and globally, all the areas of design weather it’s UX/UI, motion graphics, and web design are currently the main focus and drive behind how we get our information, products and services! Look forward to hear and see more of your talks in the future!
I just finished my undergraduate double majoring psychology and computer science I got accepted to master in hci , but watching this im regretting my choice 😂
I still can’t figure out why do you have such a small amount of followers. Everything you say is the diamond covered with the gold! I don’t have either but I will repost every video you create)
Thank you so much for the kind words… It seems that currently, we don’t publish frequently enough to be promoted well by the algorithms, but we’re working on it actively!
