I have been an arm swinger for many years. Playing with an older gentleman who shot par that day he told me that if I ever learned to swing the club with the body I would be driving 300 yards consistently. I never realized my feet being to close is what hampered my body from participating in the swing. Great lesson. Thanks! Plan on joining the website.
@@767driver I hope you will let me know how it goes. Arm swinging is the biggest killer of all because it can be such a challenge to escape. But, it can be done!
It’s funny you mention that, I just had this dispute with a fellow teacher. He said I play the ball back farther than I think I do. I didn’t agree, but I placed alignment sticks down and hit a few different clubs and turned out to be true. That ball has crept back on me. Thanks for tuning in!
You know, I know what you mean, it’s often forgotten… or simply glossed over. Set up fundamentals aren’t nearly as exciting as in-motion features of the swing itself. I’m glad you see it!
I hear what you’re saying for sure. Some good news, however, is that unless they changed it I think everybody takes a cart. Let me know if I’m wrong on that, it’s possible. And, what I just learned from a 52 year old friend who recently took the PAT is that as a “senior” he got to play it from 5800 yards. I think his target was 156, so a pair of 78’s or the equivalent would do the trick. And, he shot 78, 84. So, he missed it, but they’re letting him hold onto the 78 to apply toward his next attempt. Waaaay different than it was when I took it!
Why doesnt the PGA have a teaching ability test instead. Many knowledgeable good golfer's that are older but possibly incapable of walking 36 holes are eliminated from the program. But a 23 year old with no ability to teach is given the green light. Hmmm
I was gifted this amazing book by a really good friend of mine (a mutual friend of ours from Hermiston OR) and its by far the best golf book told in story form. We're all Jitterbug and every story is relatable to every part of part game. easily have read your book over several times a year over the last 8 years of owning your book. Bought a few extra copies and give it to my brother and nephews that plays golf. They love it too! Thanks Bobby.
@@stormoverload it sure makes me feel good to read what you wrote. It’s been a fun ride getting to share golf with so many girls do long, and I hope it continues. All the best to you my friend.
Was that a 60 degree wedge? The closed face part was really important. I will add that part right away! Always well done videos with valuable information!
Walt, that was a 54 degree wedge, but you can use a variety of clubs. I’ll sometime use an 8-iron and hit a much longer chip using that method. Let me know how it goes!
Hey Bobby, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
No difference between mats and grass. If your not hitting ball first from the mats then grass is just going to frustrate you more. I have coached plenty of players including tour pros from mats. I actually paint 🎨 on my mats to help beginners and pros see path and face alignments.
I watched this again this morning. Wow. Might be the most practical lesson ever given. I recall years ago listening to Jordan Spieth on the Saturday before his quad on #12 that cost him the Masters repeat in 2016. The interviewer asked him: "What do you have to do tomorrow to win?" He said, "I have to strike the ball better, I can't leave it up to my putter to bail me out like today." When I heard that, I knew he was in trouble. He should have answered like you mentioned Tiger thought. He should have said, "Whatever it takes, scrambling, putting, or steady Eddie golf, that's what I will do." Your lesson on this is perhaps the greatest single lesson ever given. I've really enjoyed and profited from your lessons Bobby. You are the man!
Thank you, Bronco! You’re absolutely right. Set up to the ball in a very unexciting way, hit it in the fairway, on the green, and keep it to two putts or less. Yessir, steady Eddie is the key!
You don't have to drop a perpendicular club length from your nearest point of relief, you would still have a 90-degree arc of club length that may avoid that bush.
