Had the 8V92TA and 8V92TT (Twin Turbo) Silver tip also known as the Screaming Detroit in an M1120A2 Oshkosh LHS Truck that I drove in Afghanistan. Scared the locals every time. Powerful Big Motor.
I have a Cabover Chevy Titan/90 with a 475hp 8V92 Detroit and a 13 speed... I don't have straight pipes on it but after hearing this I may put some on it...
@@thedesertdwellerfromutah4354 fair warning it’ll be tough to talk on the phone and cb once you do it but it’s definitely been worth it in terms of the sound and people remembering your truck
OK, this was sweet. Are they true straight throughs (not lumps of pips bashed into the muffler). Also, can you shaare a video of the tach as you shift, please. I am trying to figure out where your shifts are.
True single 5” straight pipe. Planning on doing 7” duals when I change my fuel tanks. My engine speed sensor is off so to someone who isn’t used to it the tach is useless. Governor is set to 2100, shifts are probably at 2000-2050
@@Soberglitch The tone is sweet! I’m buying a -b series with mufflers, and I was hoping to get a similar sound from it. Did you just pull the mufflers and pipe through? Any heat shield? 2000/2050 is what it sounded like to me. Most of the driver’s with videos on here are taking the higher rev limit to extreme and shifting up around 2300/2400; your shifts sound much more inline where I’d shift (which I guessed at 1950/2000) so we’re in the same ball park. What’re your fuel figures at 100,000lbs ish? Are you getting anywhere near 6s (on average running)?
@@shedlock2000 it’ll definitely sound different but I just took off the muffler and heat shield and put on a new pipe. I’m in a dump truck and trailer, not much cruising on the highway and built for off-road so I average around 4mpg with my trailer on
@@Soberglitchexcellent info. Thanks. Yeah, different application, for sure. I’ll be hauling cattle, so a tall trailer that acts like a parachute! Lots of highway miles, though.
Ah, that sweet Detroit music! As I always say whenever I hear a 2-stroke Detroit, GO DETROIT!! What transmission is in this one? Can you please do a super long 2-4 hour unedited ASMR style video on this 86 359? I want to hear everything from engine start up, driving empty to get loaded, driving loaded to a dump site, dumping off, returning to the yard empty, and engine shutdown at the end. ASMR videos help me fall asleep, and I'd love to pretend I'm spending the day running this amazing 359 when I'm listening to it! I'd love several ASMR's to be done in this way, if possible. Please let me know ASAP.
This truck has an 18 speed in it. I’ve tried to capture more footage and mounting cameras to the trailer but either the engine or wind noise is too loud for the microphones. Been thinking of investing in a nicer camera. I have a couple startup videos over on my TikTok @tonyjoepen but nothing more as of yet
@@Soberglitch here’s an idea: you could do an in-cab ride along video, that way you can get the straight pipe sound but no wind noise. What do you think?
@@GarbageSean yeah I have about a 40 or so minute clip of one load, drive to the job site and then unload. Might go through and edit it or try to get a better viewpoint in the cab with my phone. Trying to get better angles and filming from the outside for short advertisements and things like that
@@Soberglitch I’d like the raw version of the run, I don’t like edits, for me, I want completely uncut action. Can you please upload the full unedited run? Please let me know ASAP.
I can't say I really remember it much before Stage 2. I would stick with the catless setup. The only thing I would consider is going with a resonator now that I'm a 30 year old man with a family.
I know a lot of people have asked if I still have the Subbie. I don't but I made a short video of what I drive now. Here's the link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Vzewj84uFJg.html
I sold it 2 months after this video. Off the top of my head it had Prodrive GT1 wheels, coilovers, mudflaps, all the silver was painted black, and a bunch of other small things
+Engage Tutorials mine spun a bearing at 16k stage 2 2015 sti. i highly suggest waiting for the FA sti or if u can't wait buy the FA wrx because FA motors are less prone to detonation and the oiling system is better
paying off my 2000civic in a like 2 months ..Gona sell it and go put a down payment on a 2010 Subaru wrx hatch "limited" ...mmmmmmm made my mouth watery thinking of it lol...any tips on some first steps for better performance??
Good luck finding a limited let alone a good hatch. I would recommend basic bolt ons and a nice tune maybe stage 1 or 2 by Cobb and leave it at that. Anything over starts to get dangerous. Treat her nicely and she won't throw codes or fry ring lands.
i'm going to buy a wrx sti 2012....here in italy the property tax is around 1400 euro yearly....oh and the policy is very expensive....plus the fuel cost...2 euro/liter circa... Stupid italy....=(
