I honestly dont mind monopolization of streaming platforms otherwise you basically would have to pay for a bunch of companies if you want to watch a few shows but crunchyroll is such a bad streaming platform, they have such a weirdly small catalogue in terms of quality shows and have removed too many features.
What did you open with "The exact same episode".. Ah, I get it, bait. Later on you yourself specified that there were changes between episodes, yep, there were, and it was painful to watch, but I like it because they wanted to convey what a couple of characters felt during this arc... However, I do agree, maybe 3 or 4 episodes would be fine, they could have added another short arc, I've read the novels and a lot of them fit, but who knows, maybe they were not released back then or they didn't want to present them in disorder after what happens in the movie.
26:10 I think that MUBI has a version of this kind of value add that you describe. You can't make playlists of course, but there is a social aspect in that you can leave ratings on movies and see what your friends have in their watchlist etc. There is also a discovery aspect to it with genre groups and filmographies that are curated by people every month. A lot of these movies are also more on the obscure side with some being difficult to find even through piracy. I admit that MUBI is in a niche because their selection is geared towards cinephiles, but some of these concepts can be applied to streaming services with a more general audience.
There are some good parts but 12 episodes are not enough for a code Geass story, if It was a 50 episodes anime with more character development I would have enjoyed It more, the last episodes ruins the show. I'm disappointed but i kinda expected It from a 12 episodes series, i really liked Ash e sakuya anyway but they're the only ones that i save in a mediocre show...
I accidentally replayed this short multiple times for a couple of minutes because I needed both hands and put my phone down while watching this short. I looped.
VRV was bought by Crunchyroll, VRV was leagues better. Selection was better, navigation and season selection was cleaner too. And they had the skip features, after acquisition Crunchyroll still didn't even have the skip intro, and still doesn't have skip recap or outro.
I have to disagree. Aren’t we all tired of having to pay for multiple streaming services? It used to be just HBO and Netflix, but now we have Disney plus, discovery plus, paramount plus, peacock, so on and so on, that you can be paying upwards of $70 to get access to the shows you want to watch. I see all these anime services merging and I personally think “thank Christ, that’s 1 less subscription.”
Endless Eight is actually based. Unprecedented commitment to the bit. It gets way too slagged off by fans who just wanted more of season 1 instead of something really creative. Art is pain.
considering the price crunchyroll is probably the best value in streaming service right now. I've paid for it for years. they have improved their UI since you made this video too. Shows are now listed only once with all dub and subtitle options in one place. The thing I don't like about CR is that they censor some anime and they are tend to pick up the more "woke" anime now. They did away with the ecchi section as just one example. Still every anime season probably has like 30 new anime simulcast for a low price. It's a pretty good service for the price for the number of new shows each season and library.
I hated this arc when I was watching it, I know the vision was grand and all and the message was stellar or something but honestly it ain’t for me, I almost dropped the anime completely in the middle of it. And now 10 years later all I remember from this god forsaken anime is this episodes can’t say I’m happy about that.
I like how they added the other protagonists (from the Spinoffs manga & novels) into the show, like having Leila and her team get cameo and some fight scenes. I like how they show that there will always be people who'll want to ruin peace, much like in the real world... I want to see the other old cast tho (especially Shirley) and make Sakuya shine more to be a worthy successor of Lelouch's legacy in some way since she's his niece and chosen by him specifically to grant a Geass. The anime lacked episodes to properly develop Sakuya and showing the world building. This anime would've done better if it had more episodes like in Lelouch's anime. Here's hoping that in 2nd season it'll have more episodes coz seriously 12 episodes aren't enough especially when u have a massive cast. (Both the old and new cast).

I keep watching video bout roze of recapture. Tbh why so much hate on this anime? not peak but definetly not trash series. first of all , code geass is one whole verse , i am well aware of it since akito the exile era. lelouch is not the protagonist of this series/verse anymore.L.L and C.C are the wandering witch and warlock on CG verse. 2nd.point of view of different protagonists such as lelouch , akito , roze (2 from the manga, i forgot their names.) 3rd.Lets wait for the upcoming series and future announcements, this is just the beginning of the deep story of 'code geass' itself since those 2 (c.c and l.l) start tracking back the origin or atleast investigating on it. my only disappointment is how the fk 'britanian empire back'? the neo britanian empire so strong that the ufn didnt do much of it? 5 to 7 yrs of peace. left by lelouch lost like that lol. not to mention they conquer the northern part of japan which is hokkaido. ( so many weird questions in my brain rn. lol)
I really hope we get another anime streaming platform that can add competition. The same way Tidal, Apple Music and Spotify all are competitors from one another. Where we get the same amount of shows (maybe some more than others with some exclusives here and there) but their services and quality differ. Which will be the key difference for consumers to choose what platform they should watch the newest anime series. Crunchyroll are becoming so lazy with their subs as well. This wouldn’t have happened if they had a competitors. Same with their shows being leaked… god I hope this happens soon.
